Imagine road games in Norman and Austin. Seeing both routinely in Death Valley, Jordan-Hare, Bryant Denny, Gainesville, Athens etc.
What a great day for the SEC.

Routinely as in like once every 8-12 years?

Will make for easier trips for me to see State whip Texas’s arse again too. I’m all for it

And hopefully Auburn/Florida playing annually again.

Yeah I’m pretty excited, especially if they go with pods (which seems likely)

We are going to a pod system. Leaked to the SEC network. The largest gap between teams will be 4 years.

We’ll have to see with the pods

Against my better judgement, I think the SEC will do the right thing and move to the '3+6' format. It was already being discussed prior to the expansion announcement, so they know that the infrequency is an issue.

Absolutely. SEC is lapping the field.

SoG's version of how the schedule could look year 1 using the pod system that SECN showed.
Would be an incredible lineup and one that gets me pretty excited for the shakeup.

Lol, Texas joining the SEC is a death warrant for schools like State. You probably think Bama and the old SEC schools will protect you once Texas starts pressuring ESPN to drop you. Enjoy the Sun Belt.

Even a grand slam doesn't do this move justice. It's a seismic shift in college athletics.

Not with pods. No way the SEC is going with divisions. That's basically two separate conferences.

Honest question: I know this is an SEC forum (duh) but is this generally a good thing? The middle to lower tier teams are going to likely struggle even more (though we’ll have to wait and see how NIL evolves with the mega brand the SEC has created since January 2007). More money != on-field success; otherwise Texas would have more hardware.

This 16-team SEC is stronger than the rest of the country could put together combined. Happy to be here.

The pods are the best route. Cant make original sec teams play the newcomers every year based on geography.

Good thing ESPN doesn’t make that decision.

State is a charter member of the SEC. NO way does UT ever gain enough power to force the league / ESPN to do anything. Those UT Alum that every one in the old SWC and, subsequently the BIG 12, were scared of has zilch power in the SEC.
