We already dominated the 4 team playoff.

Now you throw in Florida, Georgia almost every year and many years LSU, A&M, Auburn will he in and once in awhile you’ll get a top 12 Arkansas, MSU, Kentucky, Ole Miss.

Every year half the teams will be SEC. And they’re used to week in week out grinds and those teams like Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State who can sometimes manage a one time victory over a top SEC team will now almost never win it all because they won’t win 3 straight games against SEC foes

The rankings will be thought out enough to keep Clemson and OSU type teams in the final 4. We see teams like Virginia get easy brackets all the time in Basketball.

Lol why view Florida and Georgia as perennially better than LSU? Recently we’ve beat both and we’re in the playoffs more recently than either

The Pac-12 is already asking for a 24-team Playoff

You will start to see rivalry games moved up in the schedule because some teams will rest their starters the last game if they are for sure in.

That’s mostly because the SEC has run away with recruiting and revenue since Urban/Saban showed up. It’s not all geography (ACC and B12 pipeline the same territory). If the playing field is leveled a bit I predict teams outside of the SEC that can get exposure and bucks can improve their competitive standing. Saban et al won’t be around forever (...I think)

This helps those teams in the historical 8 to 15 range the most

All time AP ranking example

So looking at last 2 years..

2020- SEC would have gotten - 4 , Bama, TXAM, UF, & UGA. UCinn and Coastal would have gotten in. Only the Top 12 would have made it.

2019- SEC would have - 3, LSU, UGA, UF.
#12 Auburn would have been left out for #17 Memphis.

And it will a watered down title, won by teams that couldn’t win their division much less their conference.

Playoffs spots should strive to be exclusionary instead of inclusive. Earned like a paycheck instead of given like a welfare check.

When was the last time a 4 seed beat a 1 seed?

2014 OSU-Alabama?

12 teams is such a waste... going to be odd to imagine a 10 seed Texas A&M beating another juggernaut no. 1 Alabama squad.

The big question is whether they will allow people in the stadium. So Ohio State fans (as an example) have to pick which of the 4 games they want to attend? Ridiculous!

The top two in the west is a lock almost every season. Some years you might even get 3 in.

This format would make people hate the SEC even more. You might end up with even more All SEC national title games. I’m in

Gonna have to reduce the season schedule to accommodate more playoff games
I still think the conf title games are pointless now
No need for them
Plus you will have to start playoffs earlier

This just makes an already pathetic expansion seem just a hell of a lot worse. The whole process will be a joke.

the most we can send is three each year with this setup. conference champ and two possible at large bids.

no more than that.
