Steve Lassan
quote:

LSU will improve in 2021, but I still like Texas A&M as the No. 2 team in the SEC West behind Alabama. Coach Jimbo Fisher’s program isn’t without a few question marks this year, but there’s no doubt this team is trending up after a 9-1 mark and No. 4 finish last season.

Mark Ross
quote:

Yes, Alabama is clearly the team to beat, but the Aggies are probably best positioned to challenge the Crimson Tide in the SEC West. A&M will be breaking in a new quarterback but Fisher has built and developed such a deep roster that whoever ends up under center will have plenty of support, both on offense and defense.

Ben Weinrib
quote:

The defense should be great once again with nine starters returning, and DeMarvin Leal looks like a potential first-round pick. LSU should still be dangerous, and the defense can’t be any worse than it was last year. But now that Jimbo Fisher has had four years to recruit like crazy, A&M has the clear talent edge and more stability in the coaching staff, which makes it team with the best shot to take down Alabama.

Kevin McGuire
quote:

These are two programs that appear to be trending in different directions, and that swing should continue this fall. Texas A&M may not be a legitimate threat to reach the College Football Playoff (unless they are!), but the Aggies are clearly in a better position to make a run than LSU is this season. Texas A&M may easily finish as high as second place in the SEC West while it may just be a struggle for LSU to finish as high as third.

JP Scott
quote:

Between losing so much talent over the last two seasons and working in two new coordinators, it's tough to see LSU finishing near the top of the SEC West. On the other hand, Jimbo Fisher has done a pretty good job over the last couple of seasons on the recruiting trail. He'll be working in a new quarterback, but all-in-all, the Aggies have a pretty talented roster — especially on defense. I'll be genuinely stunned if LSU finishes ahead of Texas A&M in 2021.

Does it matter how high you finish when in the end you are still below Alabama?

They're all saying what we already know. Don't believe for a second these Lsu folk really think they can hang with us this year.

Yet the 3 A&M posters, who have signed up before me, are not willing to take up my offer on a year long ban bet over this season’s game

Why is that?

Why does the confidence ooze out so much until the posting privileges on this cesspool of a shitboard is at stake?

A&M will be in contention for the SEC this year no doubt. Fisher has them trending up. That’s going to be a tough game for my Crimson Tide.

Wow...the need for Aggie relevance is just embarrassing. Nobody but Aggie cares what these guys opinions are.

Yawns. Looks at my 2003,2007,2019 natty posters behind the man cave bar. Gazes over to the right wall and looks at my 2001,2003,2007,2011,2019 SEC Championship posters. For shits and giggles, looks on the back wall at my 1991,1993,1996,1997,2000, and 2009 baseball NC posters. Let me know when you have a SEC West poster to look at and I will them consider your program to be worth commenting about on this board.

It's funny watching fans when crappy teams are good for a season or two.

Just wait til it's our turn!

The line about the “talent edge” made me chuckle. LSU had 14 fewer players on their 2020 roster and was still 5 spots higher than A&M on the 24/7 composite team talent rankings. On top of that they were ranked 5 spots ahead in the 2021 cycle.

Carry on

Any one that thinks A&M will ever be a serious national title contender should be fired from their sports writing job and summarily executed for dumbassery.
