The Iron Bowl never changed. The TV deals did.

I think Pawl must read tRant.

He just called out Auburn and said "Saban has broken the will of the Auburn people". Said Harsin won't beat Bama 3 times like Gus. Basically saying the day to day rivalry is not what it was. He used the word intensity specifically.

Definitely stirring some shite today.

LSU-Bama. Even if you weirdos will never admit y’all are rivals it’s usually the most intense game year in and year out.

WLOCP has gotten to be pretty incredible given that FL and UGA have 0 competition in the East. It’s become practically a de facto playoff game (Given the winner reps the East in Atlanta which is a de facto quarter final game)

There use to be a time when I could kick up my feet and know for certain we would bash UGA’s brains in. And there use to be a time when no matter how bad we were and how good UGA was that it was going to be a very close game. Kirby has made it a much more interesting rivalry. In 2017 I sincerely thought we were going to handle them like in 2003 when they were undefeated and we were very average and that obviously didn’t happen. It’s become an intense rivalry again.

At present A&M/LSU is heating up. Orgeron has a losing recored against Fisher and it really, really pisses him off.

Bama/LSU is up there as well

Under the radar, it looks like Mizzou/Arkansas could have a lot of promise these next few years

I think the Iron Bowl has cooled off somewhat in recent years.

LSU-Bama is only really a one-sided rivalry as Bama fans don't give a shite about LSU except one week a year. LSU fans are obsessed with Bama year round.

I would say UGA-Au or UGA-UF

The only obvious answer is LSU vs. Alabama football

Clemson and South Carolina have some real hate
blood feud.

while true - it can't be on this list.

Pickens Tech is the football stepchild in a basketball conference while South Carolina fights like hell to stay alive in the SEC.

the most intense rivalry in SEC football right now is Florida & LSU.

Tenner vs Tucky:
The more Kentucky wins the Spicer it will get. Kentucky is still clawing, Tennessee just doesn't know how to function as a bottom dweller. Tennessee is reduced to fighting for scraps with Carolina now.

LSU/A&M has the potential to get to a point where no one will care if A&M plays t.u. ever again.

I'm sure Hugh Freeze flipping croots he didn't need and didn't intend to play just to keep them from going to State and then thumbing his nose at everyone on twitter for calling him out on his cheating had nothing to do with it. Still worth it, I'm sure.

Flipping your recruits that were not going to play for us is a straight up power move. If they weren’t going to play for us then how much would they have played for you? If we had spots just to give an F U to your recruiting class then why not? MS state would do the same thing.

Basketball is a great rivalry currently. But UK is like 4-46 against us in the last 50 years. They are digging up a mudslide trying to make football a rivalry.

This is so easily the Egg Bowl, but you self righteous counts won’t see it that way because OM and MSU are never very good, so the game rarely means anything outside the state of Mississippi...

UGA has been to the playoffs once and UF has never been. That doesn't make for a de facto playoff game.

when one team has 9 wins and the other has 1 win in the last 10 games, and the overall record is 54-26-5, that isn't much a rivalry

I really don't have an issue with the flipping so much under Freeze as I did with kid ya'll flipped last year and didn't even give him a scholarship. That is some BS right there and should come back to haunt you. I would be pissed if I were a HS coach that was that kids mentor.

It's either Tennessee vs 0.500 record or Tennessee vs Coaching Buyouts
