Given who has turned us down (supposedly) then Hugh Freeze would be better than who is left. I don't think he would even care about keeping Steele and others (at least for a year). He has done a great job at Liberty and those that have a problem with his back ground at Ol Sis, aren't people entitled to a second chance? If not then oh well and if so then he may deserve a second shot and be on the straight and narrow. Look at what he did with Willis.

Freeze will be Gus 2.0. I don't know why you guys want a guy who is so closely aligned with Gus. I mean Freeze is Gus's best coaching buddy (next to Chad Morris).

Freeze's only claim to fame at Ole Miss was beating Saban twice. That's literally all he did (Gus did that too). The reason he did it is because he used Gus's offensive ideas (tempo mostly). Saban has since publicly stated this was the factor in his trouble with Freeze and Gus.

Freeze's record at Ole Miss isn't that great, really. He did get them in the top 5 for a while one year, which is nice, but meh. (Mullen did the same thing at MSU, which is even more impressive). Freeze didn't win championships.

He's done nice at Liberty, but meh. I can name half a dozen coaches who've done really well in the G5.

That said, give me Freeze over some of these others we've seen thrown around. Still, I don't think he will improve AU much over Gus unless he cheats. And if he cheats and gets away with it, cool. Just don't get caught.

As in Auburn has enough problems without inviting in even more. And because a revolving door of coaches would be better than the wading through the NCAA and SEC hate that's following him around. His best fit is another conference and not impacting (in any manner) a Basketball Program that's still in Person's recovery mode.

Plus I don't want another coaching tree that's the same as Gus's. When there's guys (just to mention one) like Brent Venables that's played under Bill Snyder, got his nut's and bolts from Bob Stoop, and been refining his skills of late with Dabo. Not that BV would leave Clemson while his two sons are playing there.

Looking back over the hot name list for the last decade or so, how many of these "new-to-a-team" coaches have 1 good year?

Seems like the culture change and energy help the team find a new identity and play at a new level. Year 2-4 seems like the fade into mediocrity happens.

That's why Napier is attractive to me. He's built/building sustained success in one place, not a flash in the pan.

I could use your words, and just replace Freeze with Pearl. See how that works?

Pearl has hookers on speed dial? Inquisitive minds would like to know ..... who gave you Pearl's phone with passcodes?

He would bring an exciting offense for sure. I really don't think that he would want to follow his buddy Gus, though. That and some of our fans have already let their disdain for Freeze be known. And Freeze saw. And acknowledged.

We're so hosed. Who is coaching Auburn High? Maybe he can coach the high school AND the university?

Took Temple from 4-7 to back to back 10 win seasons before he moved on to Baylor.

Took Baylor from Rape scandal to 11 wins and competing with OU/UGA

Both times did it in 3 years

Liberty University was recently involved in a significant lawsuit that accused the school of mishandling allegations of sexual assault.

Chelsea Andrews was originally known as ‘Jane Doe 7’ in the lawsuit. She received a message request (unsolicited) DM on Twitter from Hugh Freeze. He took it upon himself (July 2022) to DM someone he doesn’t know, doesn’t follow, she never contacted him first, to defend his employer who is being sued for mishandling sexual assault allegations. * BTW This had nothing to do with LU football but now it does because he stuck his nose in it.

Is this bewildering dumbass the person you want to represent Auburn University Football?
