But if we did buy out Gus and want a coach that will win, Freeze is that answer.
8-5
9-4
10-3
5-7
That's his win-loss record on the field at the P5 level. Winning percentage of .609.
Take away the 27 wins vacated due to NCAA violations and it's even worse.
This is a 'coach that will win'?

Do some of you just not understand the concept of "context matters"?
4-8
2-10
Those were Houston Nutt's final two seasons at Ole Miss prior to Freeze being hired. Thats what he inherited.
2-10 to 7-6 in his first year on the job. Then three straight years of improvement which resulted in Ole Miss' first 10-win season since 2003. 8, 9 and 10-win seasons in succession like that hadn't happened in over a decade at Ole Miss. This is a bottom tier SEC-West school. Freeze came a hair away from beating Saban in three straight seasons - at Ole Miss.
Yes, that is a coach that will win.

Take a look at Saban's record at Michigan State. Let me save you the shock. It's worse.

There is a post on the rant that shows an Iron Bowl poster made by the Alabama Ath. Dept...or at least tweeted out by the official Alabama Bama football account. The poster celebrates Bama, while simultaneously trolling Bo Nix.
That's the level of embarrassment we get with Gus: making fun of Auburn's children. And we do nothing except stroke Gus another check next month.

Post the records of their previous coach so we have a real comparison

I get what you are saying, but I think he is the best that would be willing to come to AU and the best we can afford. I am trying to be realistic about what we could get. I mentioned in your thread I think we will have to look at non-P5 head coaches or top P5 coordinators. I am not sure you spend $40M-$50M this year for that kind of coach. I cannot think of another realistic coaching hire besides Freeze that could come in and have a better chance at succeeding in the SEC. But I don't see us hiring Freeze.
I think we are looking at 1, if not 2 more years of Gus.

Another plus for Freeze is he knows how to recruit in the SEC. Hugh knows it's cheaper and harder to trace giving recruits poo-nanny than Chargers. If it wasn't for those dang phones ...... You live and learn how burners work.

He also develops Qbs and knows how to get the most out of his players

Of all the things that would be the greatest improvement over the current head coach, THIS IS IT!!!

Another thing to remember about Hugh Freeze is that to obtain that mediocre record.. he straight up cheated.. relentlessly.. over and over. The Liberty stint thus far has lended credibility to his coaching acumen but I’m not sure he’s worth the risk

Not really. I guarantee he’d have more wins as Auburn HC than Gus had with Gus’s recruiting classes over 8 years.

Open invitation since everyone here likes to throw the keyboard warrior shite out. Stand up for what you believe in big boy or sit down and shut up like the coward you are.
If yall want to discuss football I'm all for it. I'll stay out of the coaching shite so don't bring me in it.

Do we have the dumbest fanbase in the country, or what?
Here's what kills me: the same people who conveniently excuse our own coach's ~4 losses per year while being essentially noncompetitive against any of our traditional rivals (ie: when we lose, its usually not even close) want to pick apart and criticize every little detail of other coaches who are clearly superior - and most of the time coaching at schools with nowhere near the resources that we possess. You guys realize that we paid Muschamp and now Steele more money than a lot of schools pay their HC, right? And that without Muschamp and now Steele, Malzahn would have been out of here years ago? Somehow, consecutive 8/9/10 win seasons at fricking Ole Miss is "mediocre", whereas losing to South Carolina and basically having to squeak through our entire schedule in year 8 (fricking Tennessee was about to tie the game before their idiot QB gift-wrapped us a pick-six) is not that troubling? This same clown said that if we finish 5-5, its time to CONSIDER the idea of replacing Malzahn? CONSIDER LOL.
Do you guys even watch football? We exhibit traits of teams that play in Division 3 and there's always a convenient excuse for it, but supposedly no one is worthy of replacing our HC - if they're not winning 10+ a year at Vanderbilt, forget about it.
