I guess that would be Lanier and myself. if you call us Gus supporters. I think we have been genuinely honest it's time for a change just won't happen right now. Not this season and as I predict probably won't be next year because I think we win to many games.

So if that makes me a Gus supporter I'm all in but I don't think either side is convincing the other to give in so why keep bringing it up.

Let em melt. Its nothing new. Its the reason a few of us have taken the other side for a while. Fun to watch guys break down over a college football game.

They will replace Gus when it is time. And time being worth the investment. Not for 30 million because we cant beat the best team in the country. For now, it will just be more melting and entertainment for us.

I am a Auburn supporter. Have been before a lot of these guys were alive. Will be as long as I breath. We are basically doing what Auburn has done since I started watching them. Id expect Gus to be replaced after next season if the season is a bust. For now, just sit back and dont get your feet wet.

Loser complacent mentality.

Perfect example of what is entrenched itself at Auburn. Might as well be saying: "We are who we are. We shouldn't expect any better. We can't do any better. As long as we beat Alabama every now and then, that is all we can expect."

I am sure Clemson fans felt this way at one time too.

Sad. Just sad.

Im not telling you that it is what I want or accept, Im just telling you what it has been. You drew the line between them yourself

Try all you want. I am not your escape. You can continue as much as your hearts content. I have just been a little voice of reason during your embarrassing antics over the years. Or when you decide to show up.

You didn't like me questioning your "throw the bank at XXX Coach" and you just don't have the ability to accept that

Instead, you do your best to insult me and call me stupid names. Seems you dont like a different opinion. Or a reasonable one.

Enjoy your melt bro. Maybe MC can save you

There are no 'Gus boys'. There's still a group of pessimists that think it could be an even bigger disaster to pay all that money and then hire an even worse coach. It's a more than fair concern. Nobody wants to be Tennessee. The landscape sucks right now.

And Clemson doesn’t have near the historical success as Auburn. Auburn has done some really good things with mediocre coaches. Just imagine what a competent coach would do.

Agree. Over the recent years they have. Chizik, Bowden and Malzahn.

It is exactly what I was saying above. Just taken out of context.

Why does Clemson always get brought up. Yes they are on a roll now. Recruiting very well. But has taken VT Miami UNC and FSU all do be way down from their norms for them to accomplish what they have done. That is not the norm they are the exception. For every 1 Clemson there are 10 Tennessee’s.

I’m not saying it not time to change but outside of Myer there is no one that is going to flip Auburn around a s in 3 years be competing for a national championship every year. We don’t have the recruiting base.

Matt Campbell and any of these coaches that are always named are fine coaches but won’t move the needle one bit over our historical norm. Recruiting is the name of the game and if we can’t get a staff that gets us close to the top 5 each year we will at a minimum loses around 3 games a year. With the occasional year where experience lines up and we compete for the SEC and now a playoff spot.

I admit I like Gus, he’s a good dude, a little different, like every coach out sometimes doesn’t have a perfect game plan but when you play 6 teams every year that have a legit chance at beating you you’re gonna have losses.

Lanier and I get cracked up at the every week someone new that won a game pops up as the next AU coach and regardless what you think most coaches out there will be a huge downgrade from Gus. Watch and see.

Why in the hell do you think that spineless, dirtbag Urban Meyer would be a good fit for us? There is no way he has the stones to jump into the SEC West meatgrinder for any amount of money.

Gus fans are Barfield Tigers. They were beaten so soundly during their time at Auburn they accept mediocrity.

eta: if you dont believe me, the ones saying theyre pro Gus, what year did you graduate from Auburn?

I agree with the sentiment. Heck, I am probably one of the few that believed a contract extension in 2017 was warranted. I was curious if Gus could use the stability to better the program. At this point I believe he wasted that window of opportunity.

I know he can't seem to finish on elite OL, but there are tons of schools that have much better OL's than we do that don't recruit the elite kids. I'll give this years OL credit they are better than we've seen in probably 5 or 6 seasons, but they still aren't great. The lack of a QB isn't as big of a deal to me because the NCAA is loaded with schools wishing they had someone else's QB. I do wonder about the move away from DT QB's.

Bo...in some ways...reminds me of Mond. Mond's entire career has been up and down. Some games he looks great and in the big games he seems to struggle. I hope Bo plays his way beyond Mond's ceiling.

That’s basically where I’m at. Outlast Saban and let Kirby be exposed as someone who will never win the big game. Then Gus ends up as a stable and experienced coach who can hopefully finally recruit stud O-linemen. He’s shown he can succeed when he has a good O-line.

2014. I saw Gus involved with two of our best seasons in history. Interesting argument.

Auburn is about to lose the fanbase if Gus remains on the job much longer. Several posters here, have stated that they've stopped watching the games. Now imagine the COVID era empty stadium without the COVID restrictions. How quickly people forget Chizik's last year.

Except for a couple on this site, I don't know anyone in favor of keeping Gus on. We are a laughing stock.
