Source: All ACC programs agreed earlier today to have every single Division 1 team in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Several are expected to release official statements later today. This is being done to "celebrate" to college basketball.

I think they should if the season has to be adjusted significantly

There are 350 basketball schools in D-1 with 7 transitioning from D-II.

Expanding March Madness should always be a YES.

Northewest A&M Illinois State would be a 50 point underdog.

Can't wait until South Carolina shocks the world and makes it to the Elite 88.

That would only add 2 additional rounds. One more than the "play in" teams would have to play if they made it to the finals.

1
2
4
8
16
32
64
128
356

And since there is 2 rounds per week, only 1 additional week, which is already used for the play in games. It would probably have to be held on campus though to accommodate so many games. Actually maybe not. Basketball is the easiest sport to have multiple teams play in the same place.

No clue, all I can think of is to get that missed revenue from last year.

Don’t like it. As a Clemson guy I look forward to getting geared up for an NIT bid run only to be left out of the NIT. Making a tournament would cause stress.

I think it is to maximize the NCAA tourney this year. This proposal would add a whole additional weekend of games to the tournament, adding $$$ to the NCAA to make up for 2020.
