“They’re very open about their philosophy, you know, involving science and things like that,” Jones said during a Friday Zoom teleconference. “But everything they do in the weight room translates to the field, and every single lift we do, there’s a reason we’re doing it, and they make it very clear why we’re doing that lift.”

“And I feel like that just boosts morale and we don’t feel like we’re just going through the motions, we’re getting better every day,” Jones said. “There’s science to prove it. They’ve done a great job leading us, and you know, we love those guys already. “So, I think everybody on the team would say they feel much better about how the strength and conditioning has evolved if you would say.”

Saturday Down South

Doesn’t sound like they miss Cochran very much.

Cochran did a great job but I think like with a lot of things in life it was time to shake things up after a decade of the same thing.

Probably a win for both parties. We'll see.

Sometimes it just gets stale and it’s time to part ways. Cochran did an amazing job for a long time. But everyone involved was ready for a new direction and new challenges.

Will this douche jump up and down on the sidelines like Cochran?

I dont expect anyone to say anything bad about the new guys.

Does that ever happen at any school ever?

I agree that both Bama and Cochran needed to part ways.

You mean to tell me that players are speaking highly of the new coaches instead of the former coaches. That's amazing. That almost never happens

Very glad for what he did at Bama. But it was time for a mutual parting of ways,

What Jones said here is really encouraging. Sounds like some new ideas that are really helping the players in many aspects.

I’m sure the guy Alabama hired is just as qualified as Scott Cochrane was.

For Alabama’s sake, at least they won’t have an oversized, roided up cheerleader on the sideline anymore.

It does however sound like what every player says about their strength coach around the country.

Maybe he'll make Bama softer to match Saban's declining Coaching ability.

First thing I did in my career when I got a new boss was to trash them publicly. Seriously, these guys are probably good, but acting like they invented "science" is funny.

I know that no player is going to bad mouth a coach while they are employed with the team, but I think it obvious that our S&C program has definitely been a one of the factors recruits have weighed when committing to our program. The Brockmeyer twins cited it specifically when they listed the reasons as to why they chose Alabama over Texas.

Hope they are doing a lot of workouts for hand strength / grip.
