Penn State and Auburn seems like he has a good shot at either
If Auburn hires this dork we deserve everything we get.

Golesh continuing to look strong. We should talk to him.

We will look like a totally different team against Vandy and will beat them quite easily
Zero chance. We should look better but Durkin has almost no options offensively. Derrick Nix was a recruiting hire that Hugh lied to about getting play calling responsibilities. Kent Austin is whatever he is. There's no one on staff that's gonna overhaul this offense in a week. Also Vanderbilt is really good.

Does anyone actually care that Freeze played golf in his free time? It has nothing to do with why we lost games. The QB spot, the OL, the scheme and play calling it what lost games. There's not a mystery or controversy with this one. Just a coach that didn't work out, that's how it ends most times.
Yes. You have to eat, sleep, and breathe football if you're going to be successful in the SEC. Especially when you're a shite hire with a past, and this will certainly be your last big time stop.
We had some bad players on the OL. But a good coach wouldn't let them get 120 yards in penalties to lose a game. There are tons of things you can point to details wise that made it very obvious Hugh wasn't putting in the hours.
Then you have the golf and the drinking. Every Auburn coach other than Gus has done a ton of that. Not a deal killer. But you can't be repeatedly seen out in public doing either when your side of the ball is awful on Saturdays.

We need a scheme change. Slide protection is out dated. Disguise a blitz or run a twist and we're cooked. The guys are here. Do we agree it's a coaching problem not a talent problem?
Neither QB is good but I think we all know the system and coach are to blame. Hugh has a million more problems, but he does the same shite Gus did. They bring in the backup and give him 3-5 plays and set them up for failure.
quote:
If they wait then Durkin won't be the interim & potentially do a great job in order to be named the next coach. I have a couple of others that would be better in my mind.
Not wanting Durkin to do well and win the fanbase is the only explanation for Durkin not taking over after UGA.
0%. They will drag their feet and see how bad the outrage gets by Tuesday/Wednesday.

I'm good with how we're calling it. Keep Hugh as far out of the picture as possible, run, punt, get some defensive scores.

Not to happy about the way he has his team playing tonight...
Either he's distracted by assembling his staff or we need to #StopSumrall
re: Were gonna screw around and not hire Sumrall aren't we?

It means nothing but have heard it from two different Auburn groups today. These people are the same as you and I, and I would not say they are connected, but maybe they know some people who are.
Hugh is gone at years end and Sumrall is onboard to come. I have a hard time believing it's actually that cut and dry right now.
Additionally, I think UF or LSU could easily cuck us between now and then if they want him.

I've wanted to fire Freeze more than anyone. Abysmal person and coach. But I'm kinda here too now. The one exception is if you can do a clean Jetgate and get a yes out of Sumrall, go for it.
I'm afraid if we do what needs to be done and fire Hugh, we lose Sumrall to UF/LSU and end up with a Rhett strapped to another 3-4 year contract we have to get out of.

Just a guess
I've got this on good authority. Bout to reclaim that FG U title.

Respectfully, the internet has poisoned your brain.

Why is this a bad thing? Petrino is a proven head coach and still knows how to run an offense. He was left a shite show and is trying to navigate through the season. Gotta let him assemble his own staff. Petrino is better than a lot of these names I've seen thrown around. And he has actually proven it in the SEC before.
Same logic people used with Freeze. But Freeze had done it better and more recently. Think we know how that worked out
quote:
We've got college kids driving around campuses in $100k+ cars and not going to class and Indiana's schedule strength is ruining the sport?
Very common and stupid opinion that the labor finally getting a small piece of the pie is the problem.
quote:
For God's sake please no Lashlee, Drinkwitz or Dillingham
It’s gonna happen and not only that they will insist on them keeping Durkin. The people that make these decisions at Auburn never learn a single lesson.
A week ago they were going full QAnon saying that Freeze was doing great but the SEC was screwing him.
quote:
I'm not so sure about that statement. I think Freeze is better at getting talent and I think Freeze is better at hiring coaches. Plus Freeze has been down the losing his "big time" job before so the ball is in his court for now
Only real way to try and compare that ability is to look at their records.
quote:
I've told yall it's either Freeze goes down with his guys and is gone for he becomes the CEO and lets a new OC overhaul the entire offense. And that's just for now. Any loss could change the dynamics greatly. He does have a couple boosters that have faith in him an it's only saving grace.
Tried it with Gus. Doesn’t work. And Gus is a much better coach/CEO than Freeze.
