But there is more than just scholar ships.. uniforms and training equipment cost, travel, coaches, trainers, recruiting,
GT only did 300k in ticket sales..
If a baseball team breaks even. It’s lucky. Most operate well into the red.

Don't be an a-hole, dude.
These players have the best healthcare, doctors, surgeons, rehab specialist, tutors, etc available to them absolutely free of charge.
Like I said, don't be an a-hole.

LINK
For anyone wondering why the PAC-12 told these players to shove it, especially the part where any form of revenue is shared, please read this article. Ole Miss is going to lose between $20M-$30M if the football season plays out the way we think it will. No way in hell any D1 program can pay players anything if they can barely keep their own doors open.

There are kids that would kill for the opportunity these kids have. Give the scholarship to someone who really wants to play ball and get a free education.
This.

Pretty tone deaf to try it right now.
They did try to add an aura of racism to it though.

I could be wrong...maybe they crush it in attendance and have the ACC TV contract is the best in the history of women's CBB but
I have huge doubts
Can you post that link? I'd like to see how they came up with those figures.

This isn't really about health and well being.
Doesn’t have to be. It’s really about a company making millions off the labor of individuals who are paid in peanuts comparatively, who have a skill set that very few people have. Can just about anyone “play” football? Sure. Can just about anyone play at the level these athletes play? Not a chance in hell.
If all of the top rated athletes decide to do this, it would cripple college football greatly. The players who decide to do this would be fine. The NFL would change their policies to get these better players in some way. Right now they have a rule about not drafting from high school, but that’s because they have been given a free “minor league” in the form of college football. But I guarantee you if these top athletes stop playing for colleges, the NFL will find an alternative to their rule before they start taking 2nd and 3rd tier players from colleges. Only colleges stand to lose from this if the players as a unified group decide to do this. If it’s a few players, colleges will do what was done here. If it’s the majority of the top 250 players in the nation that does this, colleges will have to come to the table and compromise or lose out big time.

It’s not a “job” for these players at this point and if you were a worker with a skill that few had that was in high demand, you could get away with it. That’s how capitalism works. Supply and demand.

you choose to be an idiot.
i'm not against you choosing to be an idiot.
i think it's a poor choice though.

Then don't play football. It's real simple they don't deserve half the revenues they don't deserve anything then a full scholarship to go to school for free it's not that complicated
That’s your opinion.
Gonna be real funny when all these top players decide to do this and college football is left with players that play on the jr high level and nobody wants to watch anymore because watching people play a sport poorly is not fun for most people.

Gonna be mighty hard to negotiate now that theyre not on the team
If they are good enough, some other team will absolutely grab them up. That’s how supply and demand works.

surely you understand most of us have jobs were we're just a risk as those kids playing football.
Key word being “job”. College football is not a “job”.

So I guess you're all for bend over and let's just shut up and let them tell us what to do. no thanks I'll pass but you continue with that mindset. about 90% of them want to play football the other 10% really need to just shut the f******
It's kind of like giving inch and people will take a mile.
personally I think every one of them who signed that petition need to have their arse kicked off the team
