1) Auburn-Florida no-brainer as they are natural rivals and had been playing annually for so long. Plenty of memorable games too.

2) Auburn-Tennessee, another natural rivalry, I wasn't old enough to remember its heyday, but seems like it was plenty heated.

3) LSU-Kentucky, not a natural rivalry at all, but it became tradition and was cool to have two of the most far-flung schools in the conference play each other. Lots of memorable games (1998, 2001, and ofc 2002 come to mind)

4) Arkansas-Tennessee, seems like this could've been a natural rivalry since they both have large fanbases in Memphis area. Some memorable games like 1998 and the 2001 (or was it 2002?) 5OT game

5) Georgia- Mississippi, not a natural rivalry, but it definitely became a tradition that I think both fanbases enjoyed. I seem to remember their games always being good in the 90s

6) Arkansas-South Carolina, not really rivals, but it sort of made sense bc they joined the SEC at the same time

What? LSU and Florida have played every year since the 70s. And outside of I believe a few year gap every year since the 50s.

I actually had no idea that MSU-Florida was an annual series before 1992. Fun fact: Spurrier was 0-2 at Starkville as Florida coach

Yeah.. That was not a rivalry :lol.
The Bear set that up as an easy bye game. It did, however, bring about your temp nickname during the Dubose/Shula era..Vanderbama!

I looked up the series record thinking it would be something like 65-5, but honestly I was a little surprised it was 54-19-4. Still an obscene advantage to Bama, but not as lopsided as I imagined.

Vandy has won twice since 1960.

The Auburn v. Tennessee series was pretty heated. It was a good game, usually played in early September.

2) Auburn-Tennessee,

This one is way too high. They were every-year rivals for what, 35 years? Hell, they've only played about 50 times total, and it was the 1970's before UT was even willing to play a game in Auburn.

Unlike AU/UF, this was a really weak rivalry.

Alabama didn't begin dominating the series until the 60s. Before then, the series record was 17-16 in favor of Alabama.

I miss playing LSU every year. Reminds me of being real young and going to UK games with my dad. Saw LSU several times then

Arkansas-Tennessee really could have been something. We were nipping at each other for a while after we first joined, and we have a naturally developed hatred of burnt orange.

Same, some of my earliest CFB memories were LSU-UK games in the 90s. The series had been going on for so long that I think people assumed we'd always be playing y'all annually. Not to mention KY is a great road trip. Stupid SEC office

While I still hate that we lost the Tennessee and Florida rivalries, I have to admit that gaining the LSU rivalry has help tremendously. (Yes, I realize that Auburn hasn't won in Baton Rouge since 1873, but that doesn't change my opinion...lol).

Actually, I was living in Biloxi in 1999 and went to that game with four buddies (one a die-hard LSU guy) and totally expected Auburn to be destroyed after struggling to beat App St. I'm pretty sure that was the "Cigar Game". I always thought the reaction was a bit of an overreaction....but 21 years later, I just want to say "WE'RE SORRY".

Anyways, my brother-in-law is die-hard LSU after growing up in Baton Rouge (his Dad was a judge there). Plus the buddy mentioned above is still a close buddy. Even though I hate LSU because of the rivalry (respectfully)...I was living in Alexandria in 1988 and was at the "Earthquake Game"..(not that I still have nightmares or anything...excuse me while I throw up), but I pull for LSU when Auburn is not affected.

Anyways, I am going to have my final Crown and water (after having 3) and go to bed.

WAR DAMN 2020 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!

You mean Jack Hunt. I’ll never forget that play for as long as I live. It’s not as big as the warren Morris home run because of the implications but my reaction was very similar. I couldn’t believe what I saw. Sad thing is I was on the other side against Iowa a few years later.

Ha, this made me chuckle.

It also reminded me of my uncle, a huge LSU fan who made a similar comment last summer about LSU and Bama. Something to the effect of, "...it's been since the 19th century that LSU beat Alabama, and I'll probably never see it again in my life."

Luckily he was wrong on both counts, and he got to see LSU not only beat Bama, but also win the Natty before he passed in April.
