SEC Bowl Order

How would you rank these three teams: Florida, Alabama, Auburn?
If LSU beats Georgia next week, then LSU is in the Playoff and UGA is most certainly headed to the Sugar.
If I understand things correctly, then these would be the next likely bowl assignments:
#3 SEC team- Orange Bowl against likely Virginia
#4 SEC team- Cotton Bowl against likely Memphis
#5 SEC team- Citrus Bowl against likely Wisconsin
My guess is that Florida will be ranked ahead of both Auburn and Alabama.... they beat Auburn head-to-head. They have the same record as Alabama, but unlike the Tide they beat Auburn. How do you not put Florida at #3 in the SEC?
That means Florida goes to the Orange.
The real question is who is that next best team in the SEC? Alabama or Auburn. Yes, Alabama is 10-2 and Auburn is 9-3, but can the committee really rank Alabama ahead of Auburn since Auburn just beat them? They both lost to LSU in close games. The only reason Auburn has an extra loss is because they played Georgia, Florida, and Oregon instead of S. Carolina, Tennessee, and Duke. My gut feeling is that Auburn is ranked #10 tomorrow night and Bama is #11.
That would likely put Auburn in the Cotton vs. Memphis and Alabama would slide down to the Citrus to likely play Wisconsin. It could probably go either way.
Of course if Georgia can beat LSU, it all changes.

Ticket sales and tourism. How many UF fans will drive to Miami and leave after the game ?

VOLS would’ve whipped Auburn’s arse

AU will not be ranked ahead of UA whether deserved or not. Looks like UA to the Cotton but I hope we end up in the Citrus.
Lets also not forget if UGA loses the game they will also have 2 losses. Depending on how close to the same of a loss to LSU compared to UA. Yes you beat AU but lost to USC which we beat. Your team will drop in the rankings as well.

accurate, but if I'm a bowl admin, how well do you really think the gumps will travel?
Half their fanbase are wearing Ohio State tee shirts now.

Wouldn't Wisconsin represent the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl? Minnesota would be the Citrus Bowl opponent.

It’s not the ranking of the teams that matters, that’s not how it works. The bowl picks the team they want. The ranking is only the order in which the bowls get to pick, not the ranking of the teams. Therefore, it’s whatever team those bowls feel will be the best for the stadium, attendance, and TV.
I would think Orange bowl would pick Bama over any team but UF because UF is in the state and I’d imagine have good attendance? Not sure Bama will have good attendance this year due to the let down?
Then I’d say Bama because they’d be a bigger draw over Auburn. But hard to say.

Actually my guess is Penn St finishing at 7-2 will go to the Rose unless Wisc beats OSU Saturday.

The Big 10 plays into the Orange also. After the CFP, Sugar, and Rose choose, then the highest ranked of the remaining SEC, Big 10, or Notre Dame go to the Orange.

So Bama might legitimately get a chance to lose to a 4th Tigers team in 2019?

I agree:
1. LSU/UGA CFP/Sugar
3. UF - Orange
4. AU - Cotton
5. UA - Citrus
6. UT - Gator
7. A&M - Outback
8. KY - Liberty
It would be glorious to see Wisky steamroll Bama in the Citrus, and hear all the, "Well, we just didn't care once we weren't in the cfp." from Bama fans.

Doesn't matter which of those teams we play we won't be able to tackle them

UGA would have 1 more win than Alabama and 3 more ranked wins.
The resumes are not and will not be close.

Auburn and Memphis would be a better matchup. Auburn might actually lose this one.
Alabama and Wisconsin would be a fair one. Would give A1abama a chance to win.

I'm not sure if AU or Wisconsin fans will be overly excited about playing eachother again.
