I understand the sentiment as well. I'm sure everyone here does. I just don't think it's reasonable, nor wise, to even consider firing the guy yet. He needs more time.

Honestly every coach should be given 4 years. Pretty sure win percentage shows that the longer the coach is there, the results are better. We can't get into firing coaches every 2-3 years.

I totally understand and empathize with the negativity. It has been far too long for us, since we have won anything worth a damn in football. It gets old for us true razorback fans. Hooty dale to Bobby with harlot on a Harley, to Smiling about it, to Eat and Drinking it up to this.
Hard to swallow to consider the ying/yang of Razorback football. Feels like a real curse.
Impatience is real, but like Lat said... We cant have instant gratification like we want, like we feel we pay for with donations/tix. It will take some more time which absolutely sucks. I saw an OL that improved a tad, a Defense that was much better than I anticipated, Special teams that no longer looked special ed, WR's who seemed to fit the bill, and a little tee wee bit better at Qback
. Playcalling was terrible, if it is coach speech, Chad better be ready for some more negativity.
Overall, I will watch, cheer, and quite possibly throw up my hands in disgust. But will remain patient yet...

I only cursed twice. Pretty good considering the amount per game last year.

I'm about as negative as they come, thought he was an idiot hire from day 1. At this point though you can't fire him. If he goes 2-10 again you give him until the next fall. First non con loss then you fire him. Take all season to get the perfect candidate.
Hopefully he turns it around and proves me wrong. I would like nothing better. I'm not holding my breath.

It’s just a reflection of society in general. You can’t be “in the middle” anymore. Either you love something or you hate it, there is no middle ground. If you don’t hate Morris then you must be a sunshine pumper or a homer instead of just being a rational person. I’ve also mentioned instant gratification which is also a problem with sports today. Win now or get fired, but instead of that timeline being reasonable (multiple years) it’s been shortened to a single season or two. It’s ridiculous tbh.
Sure you can.
It isn't instant gratification to expect an SEC football team to be shown to be well coached on the field. Even if the talent is a shite show the good coaches have had their teams looking like they know what they are suppose to be if they can't do it.
Saban's teams looked like this his first couple of years at LSU (shite talent) and Bama (mediocre talent). Petrino and Bert for the most part their fist two here, etc.
Chavis's defense is showing the signs. Chad/Craddock's offense not so much.
I really do not think it is too much to ask for his offense to show their identity by now, even with a "vanilla" "basic" whatever you want to call it shite show there should be an element that is their identity. Are we a read/option based team? Are we a run first team? Are we a tempo based team? Are we a team that will lean on the defense to win a game or a team that will rely on the offense to outscore the opponent.
Chad has talked about having to "dial the offense back" an awful lot last year and this year, he has a QB who you would expect to at least know the offense starting in Hicks (who was an elite 11 QB out of HS). He has said and it has been said his offense relies on a QB who knows the offense, but lets not kid ourselves, the WR routes, blocking schemes, run plays, etc are not nearly as complex and genius as he wants you to believe.
Basically to paraphrase this rant, It isn't being un-reassonble for the Razorbacks to look well coached even if they suck and don't have the talent to win most games, thus far Chad's team has not shown this here.

There weren't any pre snap penalties and I didn't notice any missed assignments. We had some unfortunate drops on offense that would have extended drives. I was confused by the lack of urgency on offense late in the game but the defense showed poise in the second half after that momentum changing score, and that's something we haven't seen in a long time.
The offense hasn't found a rhythm yet and that's the only knock I have on the coaching. Every other aspect of the team looks better to me.

The receivers screwed up routes a few times. Ben was obviously irritated a few times. On the flip side, he didn’t see wide open receivers a few times which pisses me off more from an upperclassman. Don’t bang on your Freshman receivers for running short routes if you can’t find them wide open when they get it right.

I was pleased with the punting. If we could have just downed them, we should have had three punts pinned inside the 10.
Worried where the pass rush is going to come from this week though. Gerald is out and Soli will have a club on his hand. Going to need freshmen like Clay and Zach Williams to step up. I don’t see Richardson starting long TBH.

we will probably be ok. atleast we didnt collapse. I feel like that setup like a collapse then we ended it with an int and victory formation. the defense won us the game thst a good thing

The last few years we would have been beaten in the 4th. We were not as gassed and did not give up. From where we were that is major improvement!

This.
I wouldn't consider myself a 'negahog' but I also shake my head when I see things like "hey what's with all the complaining on here?!"
We're enduring the worst stretch of Razorback football in program history, and there's not really an end in sight at this point. We're arguably the worst program in the conference. We've sunk to never before seen lows, and fans are pissed. Hell, I question the sanity of anyone who isn't mad as hell at what has happened to this football program. The best season since 2011 was a year where we went 7-5 and lost to Toledo and Texas Tech. Think about that.
That doesn't mean that people want the program to fail. Far from it. We need to get away from this false equivalency bullshite. You can question the administration's decision to hire a guy with CCM's record while still wishing him success and the best of luck.

I think we are going to boat race OM. We have the team to be aggressive...funny our best player on D made more mistakes then anyone Saturday.

My perspective is a little different as I didn’t see the game live. I turned it on to watch the first half knowing the score was like 10-6 at halftime. I assumed I was about to watch an entire half of mistake filled football with numerous turnovers.
Thinking that going in I was surprised to see pretty clean football. Offense was obviously not in sync and we had some missed assignments. But nothing that can’t be fixed. It was just an odd flow to the game and we definitely didn’t play with any urgency.
My biggest compliant was the lack of NS in the second half and it was evident we didn’t put much work into prepping for PS. Thats fine when you are a good football team, but We haven’t earned the luxury to overlook anyone.
Aniouxs to see how we look this week. Certainly saw some improvement from last year in areas.

One thing is obvious, just watch the 2014 Clemson tape. It takes a smart QB with a little wheels and a big arm to make Chads system work. Taj Boys proves that. Ben Hicks shows 0 of those skills.
I don’t know when, but at some time this year Starkel will be the starter. He may not have the big wheels needed but he’s light years ahead is Pick 6.
I’m not sure why Chad decides to pull him after two series. It’s not like he’s an inexperienced freshman.
Maybe he’s got a bunch or stupid in his head from being around Kevin Sumlin and we’re trying to reprogram him.

I'm not convinced that it would make any difference.
Morris coached at SMU from 2015-2017. Within AAC conference play, SMU had only one win against an opponent that finished with a winning record during that time frame. And that one win was against Houston (@SMU) in 2016.
I never understood the hype.
But he coached Deshaun Watson one time!

Chad's offense at SMU was great, the defense was the reason they didn't win more.
Not sure what his record there has anything to do with his play calling.

Did chad call plays at Smu or was it craddock?

I didn't hold 2018 against Morris -- I'd venture a guess that even the most negative Nancy knew last year was a write off before the first snap.
I just wish that for once we'd have a coach leave us in a good position for the next coach to have a year one like Malzahn did at Auburn in 2013. Feels like we made some deal with the devil for Holtz and Nutt's inaugural seasons in 1977 and 1998, respectively, and our program has been cratering through coaching transitions ever since. Save for Nutt's initial seasons, every damn coaching tenure has been a multi year rebuild since Hatfield took over.
