The worse thing that happened to him was the long throw early to Jeudy for a TD. After that, he made bad read after bad read trying to hit it again.

You said it...We'd ask Jacobs to bail us out on 3 / 4th and short then on 1st run some bullshite play...The offense was bipolar all night, didn't know if it was coming or going.
This! Our plays on first down were just inexplicable.

I am simply amazed at how people are trying so hard to deflect blame from only Tua.
He costed us an early lead with a stupid throw. He then overthrew Juedy, throwing into triple coverage which lead to the second INT.
He missed Ruggs on an open TD when we could have came back.
Dude has a nightmare game and somehow everyone else should be blamed for it.
This is why he feels entitled and why he didn't change all year. We need him to know he's not perfect, adapt his game and mix things up. We couldn't beat this team with Jalen! We need Tua to grow up, make smart throws and not gamble, not force things deep, take what the defense gave him...
We didn't get that.

That's BS.
We drove down the field whenever we wanted until our kids gave up.
Our problems were our QB and the idiotic notion that Damien Harris is a goaline RB.
If Tua doesn't have bad reads and we run Josh Jacobs at goalline instead of Damien we score 3 more TDs. Easy

Let's not forget that an Oline can make QBs look good or make them look bad.
The Oline last night got abused regularly, especially in the red zone

Tua threw it up for grabs.

And still would have lost by a couple TDs.

I still just can't wrap my head around the commitment to the pass. QBs can have off nights, it happens, but when you're running it down their throats, why stick to the pass?? Why?? Why??
Same here as I do not understand this. Even when they were stacking the box we ran it at will.

Never assume Bama kickers can kick FGs.

He was fine. The skill position guys were about all we had last night. A few bad throws (but accuracy was really on point otherwise) and reads and he pressed things, especially towards the end, but those things happen. For all the love Lawrence is going to get, he would've done a lot worse had he been our QB last night.

This. Someone tell me why we are willing to ride Jacobs in every 4th & short call yet he can’t be found when we’re literally on the goal line. It makes zero sense.

I read a Najee quote about him not understanding why he didn’t get more carries. To his credit, he said that it wasn’t his call and he is not the head coach. He just hopes to get more carries next year.

Yes, where was he in the red zone? And where was Saban on Lockley’s arse to stop getting cute in the red zone?!

But Tua does predetermine a little too much and doesnt take the checkdown enough. I saw 2 or 3 plays where the RBs were wide open for a checkdown 1st down and he didnt get it to them.
I think that Saban’s handling of the QB situation led to this. When Alabama got big leads, Saban either pit Jalen in or “took the air out of the ball”.
Those situations would have been a great time to give Tua work on these sort of issues.

I think the Pick 6 was just a great defensive call by Venables.
It's not a pick 6 if Tua doesn't make a horrible throw.

Right now, I think Tua doesn't handle pressure. Clemson was mauling or OL and Tua keeps trying home runs. He is an amazing talent that I think will really do well next year. Only thing he really needs is patience and check down. I love his confidence but sometimes it's his worst enemy

Now, Tua doesn't handle pressure? The guy balled out all year pretty much while injured. Won a natty last season and now some of you act like he's scrub. WTF? The Clemson game was one game and it's a game we will be better for. And, I don't know how you all are so impressed with Clemson's DL and our offense did everything but score at will on those guys.
The most pressing issues we have had all season long are on the defensive side due to youth, injuries, and lack of experience. And, I'm talking about the coaching and the players on the defensive side.

Yes, defense had its issues. That’s the point of this thread... that tua made mistakes too. Probably his worst decision making game of the year. At least against UGA we could see he was injured.

I don't think he quit at all. I think he saw triple coverage and wasn't expecting the throw.
