@Gil_Brandt: They're having trouble selling tix to the #ALAvsWIS game on Saturday. Only around 40k sold as of yesterday. Very few bought by Badger fans.
I know USC/NC will not be sold out.
Is this a trend?

If you cant get the local population to buy into the game, you arent going to sell out as easy

Is this a trend?
Yes.

Should have done it in like Indianapolis or somewhere more central. Bama fans will travel anywhere.
Texas is a long trip from Wisconsin and their fanbase was just there last year for a similar kick-off game.

Prices are ridiculous and cheap seats at ATT suck - they actually rent binoculars. Of course you can always watch the entire game on that giant screen just like you are watching from ... hmmm... maybe I'll stay home and watch.

But we're such shitty fans for not filling out a neutral site game. It's the first game, there aren't any excuses.

I hope it's a trend which results in Us Seeing fewer neutral site games.

Yes.
Its happening for pretty much every neutral site game. I don't even think the A&M-ASU game is a sell out yet.

600 miles from Tuscaloosa, 1000 miles from Madison. That said, it will be full.

LSU fans will travel very well to Lambeau Field in 2017.
That game will be a sellout. And since it's in Wisconsin, Badger fans will be very well represented.

I hope so.
I'm tired of the neutral site games.

Good! Maybe they'll stop with these dumb neutral site games. I'm not even a fan of Arkansas playing A&M in Arlington and that makes far more sense then Alabama/Wisconsin playing there.

I can't stand neutral site games. I don't understand why we need to make both fan bases travel to an away location to play a game.

Football attendance overall is about to head downhill. Terrible time to be expanding stadiums.

Last season's LSU/Wisconsin Texas Kickoff classic attendance doubled the previous year's attendance.
2014 LSU v Wisconsin 71,599
2013 Miss. St v OK St. 35,874

Neutral site games are the devil, especially at professional venues.

Should be a home and home. Guaranteed sellouts.
However, money rules everything and the schools make more money by playing in 75% full neutral site stadiums in distant cities.

I personally like neutral site games. Alot of my college friends live in a Dallas and gives us an excuse to all get together, which usually only happens once a year. I can understand why a college student or someone with a family might not like it but for someone in their late 20s with no major responsibilities, i think it's great.

Neutral site games only work in certain circumstances. Having Alabama and Wisconsin travel to Texas to play a game is stupid. Other than money, it makes no sense.
Mizzou vs kU at Arrowhead worked great because it was a midpoint between two rivals, and the city itself is divided between the 2 fan bases.
Florida vs Georgia in Jacksonville has a similar thing.
It makes perfect sense that Wisconsin fans aren't traveling to the game. I doubt as many Alabama fans would make it to a neutral site game in Minnesota.
So I like neutral site games, but only under certain circumstances.
