re: UPS plane crashes in Louisville?

Damn. After the initial explosion, it looks like one of the wings keeps momentum and causes a secondary explosion.

Is that a populated industrial area it crashed into?

It's not like other schools don't have the same money, and more, and the same resources with a better brand name. Then look at our history and compare it.

Look at Indiana. Two weeks ago everyone KNEW that Cignetti was going to leave for any of the bigger programs after this season. Yet he signed a massive extension and Indiana is probably about to become a mainstay in the CFP. Clemson has fallen out of the playoff picture because Dabo refuses to use the portal like he could.

It’s because it’s not 2012 anymore. The portal and NIL have changed the landscape. Coaches can literally flip a roster in one offseason and high school kids know they’ll get paid wherever they go. Enrollments aren’t enrollments anymore - they’re temporary placeholders. Kids simply don’t care about trophies anymore. They want playing time and money.

We need a high level recruiter who has his own offensive system. There are coaches like that out there - Kendal Briles for example. We’ve already shown that past HC experience doesn’t matter to coach the Gamecocks, so why not give him a shot?
quote:

He stated on the big board that with all the coaches being fired we would be left with scraps to pick from so getting rid of Beamer this year may not be wise

I can’t get on board with this reasoning, and it’s nothing against Lonnie.

Our current coach, who has been here for five years, is clearly incapable of hiring an offensive staff. His most “successful” hire (Loggains) was made to look better than he actually was due to Sellers miraculously breaking multiple sacks last season. The Satterfield and Shula tenures have been abject nightmares.

At some point, we have to accept that Beamer doesn’t know how to identity a decent OC with an effective system in today’s college football landscape. And by no means should he get a 4th attempt. He is an excellent recruiter and that’s about it.

We have a very talented roster with perhaps the highest-ceiling QB we’ve ever had, yet we are statistically witnessing one of the most putrid offenses in Carolina history. And at this moment, Beamer STILL hasn’t fired the one responsible. I don’t understand how anyone can have faith in his judgment.

Put yourself in our new AD’s shoes. Would you want to hold the hand of your football coach to hire his next OC? Isn’t that what the HC is supposed to do himself? Is Donati supposed to have confidence in Beamer to do the job he was hired to do five years ago?

It doesn’t matter if there’s not a large selection pool of potential coaches, you can’t keep Beamer in place. Think of it this way, we were the only school who even considered him for HC last time. Literally no other school even had him as a possibility. Yet for some reason, a huge chunk of our fanbase has had this perplexing confidence that he’s the right guy for the job. Why can’t that same line of thinking be applied to some other “under the radar” coach? Maybe one who has his own offensive system and can actually score TDs?

We have the money and the resources to attract someone good, even with all of the other openings in place. I’m tired of our fans and alumni selling our university short.
Bump.

Please finally get this thin-skinned nepo baby away from our program.

re: Titans Fire Callahan

Posted by Bluefin on 10/13/25 at 2:00 pm to
It was clear halfway through last season that he had lost the locker room, and it simply carried-over to this year. He's just not a motivating presence, basically the exact opposite of Vrabel.

The roster hasn't been good and the Titans' front office is very dysfunctional, but Callahan isn't HC material. He should've been fired with Carthon last year and this season should've been a completely fresh start.

I don't have much confidence that Brinker will make the right call to bring in someone who can develop Cam properly, but we'll see. At least Borgonzi seems like he knows how to draft.
I kept watching hoping that the Peacemaker from Suicide Squad would show up. Killing people with blow darts and exploding bullets with pinpoint precision, etc. … but no, he’s just brooding in his street clothes the whole time. I think there were like 2 action scenes with him this season?

This is supposed to be the same character that said “Nothing like a bloodbath to start the day.”

I’m not saying I hated it, but it just felt like a letdown and it was a lame way to set up the rest of the DCU.

At least we got “bird blindness” out of it. Tim Meadows was the MVP yet again.

Ayomanor is a promising rookie. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about

I’m a few days late to responding but my post was in no way bashing Ayomanor. My point was to show that Cam’s most reliable receiver this year is a late round rookie that 95% of NFL fans have never heard of.

And you’re posting Ridley’s stats from last year without mentioning that a majority of those yards came from Mason Rudolph throwing to him, not Levis. So in reality, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Levis’ best receiver last year was DeAndre Hopkins.

Ward’s best receiver this year is Elic Ayomanor.

The roster was bad last year, and it’s worse this year.

There’s a reason Levis memes were a thing last year. He was good for a major derp almost every time he played. And somehow Callahan still has a job.

re: Scar @ LSU how we feeling?

Our O-line is swiss cheese. We can't block or run, and defenses always seem to know the upcoming play.

Beamer is too stubborn to make any meaningful adjustments during the bye week so I expect LSU to feast like Vandy did.
What's crazy is that between Tigerdroppings and X, I've seen at least 3 different names of real people who have been accused of being the shooter.

The fury and clamor to put names on the people who commit atrocities - with zero regard for accuracy - is absolutely ridiculous. Social media spreads like wild fire and real people are having their names dragged through the mud, completely unwarranted.
quote:

Not really oh shite. Leftist of all colors are inherently violent and incapable of impartiality.

No I'm saying "oh shite" as in the shooter might still be on the loose.

Unless there was another arrest that wasn't recorded and posted to social media?
quote:

Just reported on fox that that white dude was not the shooter.

Oh shite.
You're seeing civil unrest in Nepal because they tried to ban social media but I'm not entirely against banning social media use if you're over 65 in this country.

Most Boomers will believe ANYTHING they're seeing on social media and it is fueling shite like this.
Now is the time to establish our identity by subbing on more MLS guys
Do you think she likes sloppy steaks?

Looking for any recs on good bars or city specific shite to do for some good ole baws (ages 34-36)

Go up to Edmunds Oast Brewing on King St. (not the one on Morrison) and get some beers and apps and chill outside. If you want an early dinner, I recommend Rancho Lewis which is right next door. It’s upscale Mexican.

After that, head down towards Container Bar. Another good outdoor spot that should have some “sights” as the night progresses. Then make your way downtown from there.

If you want to golf - tough shite. It’s hard to golf here.

I thought Suburban Commando was the greatest movie ever when I was young. Like I talked about it all the time. Probably why my 2nd grade teacher wanted to hold me back.

Regardless, RIP to a legend.
