I don't understand some of his failures, but I think he has a NC in his immediate future. You can't be this unlucky forever.

It's not all luck though, especially when it happens as frequently as it does. I have conflicting views on the fire/keep Richt stuff but I can honestly see where people that want a new HC are coming from for sure. I can also see where his supporters come from for the most part. I've said it a lot but honestly the biggest reason I'd be scared to fire him is I don't trust the AD to get the right person for the job. And I realize that is weak but it is what it is.
And the author citing firing Mack Brown and now having a "down season" with Strong takes away some credibility.

Good article, the guy is absolutely right.

What I don't see from the fire Richt contingent is suggestions on who would be better and how they would "fix" it

I won't read it because it looks like some fan article and whatnot but this is one example he had? He hadn't seen how Texas was down from Brown's recruiting and how, idk, every time a staff changes (generally speaking) there is a down year?

Brown was kicking so much arse the BYU QB said afterwards "I mean I wasn't trying to pad stats or anything" or something along those lines. Once I was done laughing my arse off I started wondering who Texas was gonna hire because it was obvious Brown was toast.

As someone who knows the Texas situation probably much better than any one else on this board, I can tell you that these situations aren't comparable at all. Texas, even though their record is worse, is a much better team this year under Strong. Texas also dismissed 9 players because Brown let that program go to shite and the players still there are in place because Brown's recruiting slipped drastically. Richt is about to bring in the best two classes of his career so far.

Mike Gundy, Gary Patterson or Dan Mullen are all better than Richt. They would coach with emotion and motivate our players to show up for every game

Those wanting to fire Richt sound like the Republicans wanting to kick out Obama. It all sounds fine and dandy, but they have no solution once you get rid of the problem. Bitch all you want, but there's no one better right now. I'm personally excited to see what Pruitt brings to the table once he gets his guys in here.

Oh what a great season Mike Gundy is having this year, or Patterson had last year, or Mullen had every year before this year. C'mon man. You can't say these guys are absolutely better than Richt based on anything they've done so far. I like them all a lot, especially Patterson, but none of them are 100% better. More emotional and inspirational, probably. Better coaches, probably not.

Richt couldn't motivate me to take a dump. These kids need to be fired up every time they take the field, and I'm not seeing that with this group. Everyone of the coaches I mentioned has gotten just as close as Richt to the Natty at a lesser program.

You've suggested Gundy on several threads now. Gundy has had one awesome season at Oklahoma State. Besides 2012, he's been Bob Stoops's whipping boy despite having T Boone oil money at his disposal. Yes, they beat us in 2009, but who didn't? Wasn't exactly a crowning achievement that season. Do you like Gundy because he went on that tirade about being a man because some reporter called out his QB? The most overlooked part of that press conference was that the reporter was right; Bobby Reid was AWFUL. His defenses are awful unless they kill it in turnover margin, and his offense is good only when they have a top flight WR like Justin Blackmon or Dez Bryant.

I like Gundy because he has a dynamic offense, routinely competes in the Big XI I south at Okie Lite and is aggressive . That tirade was fine. He cares about winning and his players and it shows sometimes. That's okay in my book.

If we were assured of getting a better coach, ok, then it should be considered. That ain't happening. The coaching carrousel that we've seen at the vast majority of programs of late and the mediocrity they've seen is overwhelming and there are no sure fire guys on the market. The irrationality that people talk about sports and Georgia is getting really old.

You have to remember that those that are calling so are idiots of the first class.

Did you compare our coach to Obama? Obama is the worst president ever and to say people feel that way about Richt is crazy.

My desire for Richt to stay is conditional upon Pruitt being here.

Using this guys logic, Jim Donnan should have never
got canned.
Sick of hearing about the UT analogy BTW,,,not the same
job and the last 2 times we've fired coaches the program has
improved.

Because he only gave up 463 yards to an ACC team.
