re: Novocaine starring Jack Quaid

I didn’t particularly care for it
I obviously think the original was great. Haven’t seen it in years but it’s a classic.

But this movie really made me happy. Really really enjoyed it. It’s so over the top and beautiful and well designed and fun.

I love flying movies and this simply is the most thrilling flying in a movie I’ve seen in a long time. In IMAX, this was an experience. Felt like a ride

Everything is bright and colorful but feels like it fits into the world.

Not everything works 100% but man, so much of it is so good.

The main character is really good. Toothless is still adorable. The action is absolutely beautiful and while being cartoony still feels thrilling.

I don’t know when the last time I left a theater feeling a sense of energy like that.
This was a fun little horror thriller.

It’s about a girl who gets kidnapped by a shark obsessed serial killer.

Really, the reason to see this is Jai Courtney. He is so fricking good. There was one sxe. Where I didn’t fully by he is this character. Really made the movie.

The rest of the movie is pretty standard escape from location movie. Enjoyable enough. I thought the main actress, while hot, was kinda unlikable.

The sharks…. There may not have been a single non-cgi shot of a shark in this movie. For the most part it just does the job but there’s a couple of shots during the day which are insultingly bad. Now I understand very few people will see this in theaters like I did, but those bad cgi shots made the movie screen embarrassed.

Still a fun little watch
I mean, being perfectly honest, it just wasn’t a very cinematic war. More people died in prison barges than on the battlefield.

You could do something interesting with Bunker Hill or Saratoga. But overall the American revolution was a lot of very complicated micro scenarios playing out all over the place
There are things people can point to. Phones for example. But curious to see what answers people have

fiction requires a willing suspension of disbelief which is perfectly normal and required for fantasy or sci fi to to work. That’s perfectly fine.

Here they are pushing things so ludicrously from the humans perspective it breaks the suspension of disbelief.

To be honest, I did think the ninja portion was better in this regard. And I actually really like Castlevannia and that also doesn’t disrupt my suspension of disbelief

Oh don’t start that.

I really don’t vibe with the style of this at all. 20 minutes in and it’s just too much “style” for style’s sake with no resemblance to reality.

How are we supposed to enjoy this if there’s no tension because everything is so obviously bullshite.

Spoilers:

That Viking chick would have frozen to death so quickly when she went into the water

This isn’t dry. I am spitting into a coke bottle. It’s bright yellow phlegm.

After an episode of dry heaving, I’m doing a video doctor call because that’s the only way they can see me and I’m worried about somehow injuring myself.

On the other hand d, I do feel like my abs are getting a hell of a workout
It’s her droopy eyes. Does t bother me it makes her seem aloof

Scully sounds exactly like this chick I know. The way she speaks, the pauses, a bit of the timidity…

Oh shite, Seth green in episode 2 lol.

Mulder and Scully are way way too quick to pull out their guns lol

Braless Scully running hah

Aww shite, tooms, hate that creepy fricker

The Pacific Northwest vibe really helps so much for this show too.

Man, a couple of times I’ve thought about going to the hospital. It goes through phases but it feels like my right chest is strained from all this coughing and at one point earlier I dry heaved a little bit.

I still have some medicine to take for today so hopefully should see me through to tomorrow but this really is stressing me out
I got a 3 year used car. $341 a month. I’m single but I do ok for myself and even then, $341 is way too expensive for me. Add on to that $200 a month in insurance. Crazy. For a corolla

It was the tension between them for not getting along a lot while filming

Definitely could be bronchitis by this point. Booming house shaking coughs
I can’t watch the same movies that consistently. I watch SPR and The Longest Day and it will be probably a decade at least before I watch them again
