Apologies, I meant menu in the traditional sense. I.E. you don’t order but when you show up to a feast, they give you a menu as a status symbol showing you all the fancy food you’ve eaten.

What you see before you is roasted meats, venison, pork, beef, lobsters, eels, sweet and savory pies, desserts that seem almost entirely made of sugar, for , squash, pumpkin, Caribbean fruits and about everything else you can imagine.

I know you’re being sarcastic. You have to be being sarcastic, right.
Huge fan of grizzlies. I choose Montana though.

Orca and Manatee are up there
quote:

ask the gentleman to describe the feast, as I've never seen something do opulent before.

He hands you a menu, which would be typical to give guests at the time. Um, can you read? I don’t think any of your upstanding companions can.

quote:

I also ask the gentleman if there's somewhere my men and I can freshen up after our journey, before we eat.

The man is a statue. He shows no sign of reaction. But you still get a sense of annoyance from him. He gestures to a nearby parlor and washroom

quote:

I got a 19.

Whale found a small statue of unlimited terror in those ruins. Looking at it hints at the vast secrets of the universe know one wants to know. Whale barely looked at it and he still had to be sat down and brought back to his senses afterwards. You wrapped the statue up in a rag. You get the feeling if you showed it to someone they might go crazy.
Ok, you prepare the rowboat to leave and your 4 best fighters climb into the skiff with you.

The first two are the Thatch Brothers, Francois and Francis. Their mother, who was a bit of a whore, had Francois with a French sailor and had Francis with an English sailor and well, she was not a very creative women.

Both Francois and Francis are escaped convicts who were caught as stowaways and have been worked to the brink to pay offf their stowaway crimes. Their only clothing is rags.

Francois, also known as Gunpowder, has a beautiful scimitar worth a fortune but will never part with it no matter how awful his life gets.

Francis, known as fish is a brawler believing all fights should be handled fist to cuffs.

Then there’s Nicholas “Whale” Wright. Whale is all skin and bones and severely suffering from scurvy. He was picked up from the gutter to join the crew. He has with him a formidable crossbow. he also is dressed nice though.

Finally is Frank “bones” silas. A notorious drunk, he is bringing his pet parrot and a rusty knife.

You row towards the mangrove swamp and secure your rowboat to one of the mangrove trees. From there you begin the trek towards the open land.

Slowly the mangrove swamp turns into jungle. You come across a bizarre site. A tissue has opened in the jungle and ancient ruins are jutting out of it. You notice golems surround the structure but they make no movement. Curiosity gets the best of your group and you search the ruins and find an epic relic. Roll a D20

It is nighttime before you exit the jungle and come across a bizarre sight. You see a plantation that seems bathed in green light. You see slaves, living or dead you can’t tell, dragging a black coach. The black coach stops before you and a tall slender man in aristocratic clothes gets out. “You will be joining me,” he tells them and you feel compelled to agree. Everything feels so dreamy.

You get in the coach and you are taken to the main house. You see the lanterns ade all glowing a sickly green color. And you are taken to a dining room where a luxurious feast is laid out before you.

“Please enjoy yourself.”

The men with you sheepishly look to you for how to proceed
Sorry for the delay. Ok, typing on my phone. I’ll do this in a couple of posts probably and I’ll let it know when it’s back to you for action.
I will respond more in-depth later, but I will point out, I am going to say you can have 10 cannons. You left two on the docks when leaving quickly. And you have 3 swivel guns
quote:

Ok. Just to clarify: the shortest distance to the still standing portion of the city is through sand zombies, and the safest route is the longest and through a forest? And regardless, we'll have to man a row boat to shore?

The shortest distance to the people in the village is the docks. The docks are damaged and there are ships and wreckage in the way. But you do see regular villages on the docks. But you definitely can’t take a rowboat to get there. You can always try can clear the wreckage but as always, there may be consequences depending on how you handle the problem

You will have to use rowboat for beach or for plantations, but I will say your ship can get so close to the plantations, the rowboat is just a formality so you don’t get wet.

quote:

Did this entire number vote for me as captain?

Yes

quote:

Do we have any cannons/bombs?

Yes, off the top of my head I can’t say but you have at least a couple of cannons
quote:

K. Seems like the only real course of action.

Not necessarily. You do have options. They may end disastrously but you do had options. Really want to let you think creatively how to solve some of these solutions

quote:

Well I would bring Garm, but he seems to be out of it. Probably good for him to tag along regardless.

Garm is tied to his hammock below decks. He ain’t going anywhere

quote:

All of fighting stock. Let's say 10 men total, in addition to myself and Garm. I would like to leave mostly loyalists on the boat to reduce the chance they run off with the ship while we're gone. I give them orders to attempt to fish for food and attempt to salvage supplies from floating wreckage of the port while we're gone. Also to keep watchmen at all times to prevent zombies from boarding our vessel.

Ok, the type of ship your on does not have a huge crew. It typically has crews of 10-40 people to be able to operate. Due to the manner of your leaving, I will say you have a crew of 12. Is that fair? If so, do you still want to bring 10 people.

Also, fishing probably ain’t great considering there are zombies floating in the water. But you can certainly try to salvage from floating wreckage.

quote:

I also want to bring my flower loot I got off the captain and my nice healing potion.

BTW, I’ll say you healed back to full HP

quote:

If the ghost monkey can be convinced to come, maybe we could get him to stay here and haunt this forest instead of us.

If you could convince that monkey to do anything, you’d have convinced it into the cannon and shot it into Davy Jones’s locker a long time ago.

Ok, finalize what you want to do and I’ll push things along

I mean no lol.

Yes, the jungles and forest lead up to the still standing part of the city. It will take you some time.

Who are you taking with you? What are you bringing with you?
You can take a rowboat from your ship. But remember there are zombies in the water too.

Or you can go through the plantations and jungle where you see no undead

Just started it. Pretty cool art

Wish campsites were more in between. I haven’t died yet but I am always like with 5-10% health for a very long time which is extremely aggravating
Sorry, I got distracted when writing out my t earlier

quote:

Wasn't sure if this meant to roll once and add two or to roll twice so I rolled once and got a 6 and then rolled again just in case and got a 2.

So you rolled once and then add 2. So you have used 8 days of supplies

quote:

I need to figure out a way to tame that thing

You can try but your going to have to get real creative

quote:

Is there a functional port where we can dock

Hmm, there are docks but there’s so much wreckage and floating debris in the way, your ship can’t get access. But there’s is a lot of activity on the docks

quote:

We talking lining the entire beach, or just a few here and there

Here and there but stretching the length of the beach so probably hundreds

The beach zombies are in the ruined part of town. The living people you see are in the still standing part of town or starting to rebuild in the old part of town.

It’d be nice to draw a map but bear with me.
As you come into the harbor, the ruined city is to your right. The still standing city and docks that you can’t get to are straight forward. And to your right is jungle and plantations

Very interesting, very interesting. I will say, none of this is going as I anticipated, which is fun.

I was going to throw some random events your way but Port Royal is a fun choice.

Distance between Nassau and Port Royal is 4-7 days in good conditions so roll a D6 + 2 so we know how many supplies you have left.

Also, the ghost monkey of the ship pees on you at least twice.

—-
You can see the fires lighting up the sky in the distance as you pull towards Port Royal. It is nighttime as you enter Kingston Bay and you see deveststion unlike any you have seen before.

Half the town is partially buried into the sand. Fires rage at a fort near the entrance of the bay. You see see several other bonfires.

You notice…. You see people buried in the sand. They seem to be moving. Are they dead, or undead. You also notice the harbor is full of bodies. Zombies. They float dully across the bay, ignoring you.

You can just make out in the part of the city that’s still standing the saddest lot of people you’ve ever seen. They seem to stumble around trying to put their lives back together. Some are trying to rebuild. Some are throwing zombies onto bonfires. Some are despondent, either starring off into the void or smoking Ash.
You have to leave. To many other soldiers, there is a British naval ship as I mentioned before that given enough time can be used. There’s probably a fort nearby. You are a criminal who’s going to be worth a bounty. There’s no chance you can stay.

However, you think you have 5 minutes to get her supplies from the docks. Toll a D20 and I can say that result is how many days of supplies you have. But you have to go.

And once you leave port, you have to hightail it somewhere. But you need a plan. You’re the captain. If you’re not confident, they’ll mutiny against you. I really want you to think of what you want to do next. Do research.
I love Hell Let Loose. It’s one of my favorite podcast games. It can be extremely satisfying. It’s just real thorough though.
You think maybe Garm may know what the flower is but he’s too busy going catatonic from furiously masturbating below deck.

quote:

I tell the men it's time to go! Let's get this boat out to sea! Seems like they should be able to make this happen quickly since they were already leaving today before the former captain tried to kill me.

Unless I really messed up, that is not the case at all. I think I said this ship was planning on staying in Nassau through the storm season. It was all those other ships you walked by that were planning on leaving.

Leaving now would mean your drastially undersupplied and undercrewed. But you can make do
You find on the captain a dried flower. It is a remarkable looking flower you’ve never seen or heard of before.

You see commotion on the docks. The soldiers are walking towards your ship. What do you do
Roll a D100 for loot.

Also, the crew is divided. Per law, you have committed mutiny and your life is forfeit. But with the captain dead, there is no captain and as tradition in more unsavory locals, the crew votes for the next captain. And wouldn’t you know it, the crew voted for you by the slimmest of margins. Some of the crew including the former first mate storm off and you know you have to leave Nassau immediately if you want to live
All good. I will ask for a roll on the loot table but not yet. I am out of town and my rule book is back home.
