I added Danny Wuerffel to my original post. He is as good as I have ever seen in the college game.

That's kind of a big omission.

AJ Shouldnt be on the list, other than that it looks good.
Hilarious that A&M fans are so butthurt over AJ ever since he outplayed their poster boy head to head.

The above list was the top 5 in the WEST....
Here's the EAST list...
Here's the EAST list...
quote:
Top SEC East quarterbacks since 1992
1. Tim Tebow, Florida, 2006-09: Tebow played quarterback for two National Championship teams, and became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy in 2007. He was a Heisman finalist three times, and finished third in 2008 and fifth in 2009. He accounted for 12,232 yards (9,285 passing, 2,947 rushing) and 145 touchdowns (57 rushing, 88 passing). In 2007 he ran for an SEC record 23 touchdowns and threw for 32, the first time a QB had more than 20 TDs rushing and passing in a season. Known more for his running skills, he was a very accomplished passer in college and finished his career with the highest passing efficiency rating in SEC history at 170.8.
2. Danny Wuerffel, Florida, 1993-96: Wuerffel is a college football Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner who won an amazing amount of games and put up gaudy stats in his career with the Gators. He threw for 10,875 yards and passed for 114 touchdowns. More importantly that the stats, Wuerffel won – he was part of four consecutive SEC championships. In 1996, Wuerffel won the Heisman and almost every other major award after leading the Gators to the National Championship after losing to Nebraska in the title game the previous season. Wuerffel completed better than 60 percent of his passes and had a passer rating of 163.6 for his career.
3. Peyton Manning, Tennessee, 1994-97: Manning is the one player on this list who has had a better career in the NFL than college – and his college career was fantastic. He finished his career with the most passing yards in conference history (has since been passed) and threw for 11,201 yards and 89 touchdowns. As senior in 1997 he led the Vols to an SEC title and won every major award except the Heisman, when he finished second to Charles Woodson. He was eighth in the Heisman voting in 1996 and sixth in 1995. Manning was 39-5 as a starter and ended his career with more than 40 NCAA, SEC and Tennessee records. He was the No. 1 pick in the 1998 NFL draft.
4. Aaron Murray, Georgia, 2010-13: If you look strictly at numbers, Murray had the most productive on-field career in SEC history. He is the first quarterback in league history to throw for at least 3,000 yards in all four seasons. He finished his UGA career with the SEC records for passing yards (13,166) and touchdown passes (121). His 13,166 yards gained in a career is almost 1,000 more than Tebow in second place. Murray accounted for a total of 137 total touchdowns, second in SEC history behind Tebow’s 145. He was healthy for the vast majority of his career, but missed his final two games after suffering an ACL tear in the second quarter against Kentucky. Otherwise, he may have set his SEC marks even higher.
5. David Greene, Georgia, 2001-04: Greene finished his career with more wins than any other quarterback in NCAA history with 42. While compiling that win total, he started 52 games in a row. He held the SEC record for passing yards (11,528) until he was recently passed by Murray. Greene led the Bulldogs to two division titles and was the quarterback on the 2002 SEC Championship team. An efficient passer who took care of the ball, Greene once went 214 attempts without an interceptions an finished with the fourth best attempts/interception ration in league history. Georgia finished in the top 10 in three consecutive years with Greene at the helm, and he was drafted in the third round of the NFL draft by Seattle.

Eli and Jamarcus are interchangeable. Mallet shouldn't be on there.

They did a much better job with the East, IMO. I would put Wuerffel above Tebow. Tebow won more, but Wuerffel's fade pattern was indefensible.

The trolling by "media" outlets is out of control.

Aj outplayed Manziel???
Your "GREAT SEC" defense got 600 yards dropped on them. AJ had to play against the worst defense in the nation that game.... Gumps are so retarded.

I agree. Love Tebow, but Wuerffel was the perfect QB for Spurrier and it was incredible to watch.
