Crazy how Georgia is 4-2 vs. Auburn during that stretch

when the REAL number hurt (SEC titles and winning percentage over GOOD teams)....... you have to resort to cherry picking records over rivals.
hope that 4-2 helps you sleep at night.
nothing beats the smile on my face when I drive over to atlanta and see all those Auburn flags flying during the SECC game.

To be sure, nearly 20 Georgia natives were selected in the 2014 NFL draft, and only one of them signed with the Dawgs. That player? Zach Mettenberger – who finished his career as an LSU Tiger.

Georgia's record doesn't effect how well I sleep, good or bad

This is a simple case of Russ here not being able to see the forest for the trees. He is far too wrapped up in the numbers to see anything else.
Odd time period to select as well. He doesn't go back to a coordinator change or a major influx or exodus of a group of players and 6 years isn't exactly a common demarcation. Wonder what was behind that?
Anyway, the reasons for those numbers are simple and can be summed up in 6 words: Willie Martinez followed by Todd Grantham.

Really? seven seasons is a pretty decent sample size. Of course we could cherry pick UGA-style and look at 2002-2005. A time when Florida was down, South Carolina was mediocre, and Tennessee was slipping.

I think what the author is getting at is that you only beat teams you should beat. You are certainly 4-2 against us during that period but you should have been. Two of those years we were horrible. The other two of your wins were against mediocre Auburn teams when UGA was very good.
He is saying that you are only winning when you should. You never excel.

Let's not pretend like the UGA teams in the given time frame were particularly good.
There was one really good team in that timeframe in 2012. That team played a bad schedule and didn't play many good conference teams. 2008 and 2011 were decent teams, but not great. 2013 was doing well until they got crushed by injuries. Same with 2008 really.
The 2009 and 2010 teams were bad.
That stat really isn't surprising.

I was in Athens in 2009 and UGA was lucky to win that game. If it were not for Rambo knocking his arse out hitting mario Fannin, Auburn wins.
Dude took one for the team..
