Actually, it’s more damning than that. From that Auburn game in 2007 until Vanderbilt in 2012, Georgia did not beat a single SEC team that merely finished conference play above .500. Not one. A string of 35 conference games spanning nearly five years.

Indeed. We had a group of horrible D coaches and could not have stopped a team of 11 grannies with walkers from putting up 30+ on us in most games. John Jancek, Rodney Garner, Willie Martinez, Lakatos, and Grantham have all moved on now and taken their soft, pussy, ranting and raving bullshite with them and we (for once) actually went out and made the hire for DC that we should make.

People don't understand that changing the defensive coordinator under Richt has the same effect at UGA on the culture of the team as changing the HC does most places. The team takes on the personality of the DC, whether that be soft (Martinez), befuddled (Grantham), or whatever. Hopefully under Pruitt, they'll be bloodthirsty.

There is much to agree with in the article...If upper management could get their shite together...i believe we could be a very successful and even dominant football team...

I will continue to celebrate the wins...and cuss the losses as humbly as possible..but the truth is......I want more for my team. ....

having said that...it's never as bad as other people make it.

Now THAT was a well thoughtout response to the article. Believe it or not, most of us do not keep up with all the inner details of other programs.

I think pruitt appears to be a very strong hire. We will see in the next 1–2 years.

Again, Thanks for the serious discussion.

Really? seven seasons is a pretty decent sample size. Of course we could cherry pick UGA-style

Talk about cherry picking. Why not use last season when we beat two highly ranked teams? Wouldn't that be a little more indicative of where the program is heading? But then you would be faced with your own teams failure, wouldn't you?

Here lately it would appear as if Auburn can post only threads about Georgia. I guess it just shows when you can't beat your #1 rival consistently you have to move on to rival #2. However, recent history shows Auburn's record against Georgia isn't so hot either.

I wonder who their #3 rival is? Maybe it is time to move on again?

To be sure, nearly 20 Georgia natives were selected in the 2014 NFL draft, and only one of them signed with the Dawgs. That player? Zach Mettenberger – who finished his career as an LSU Tiger.

Does this indicate we should have kept Mettenberger and gotten rid of Aaron Murray?

So we went 4-2 against Auburn the last six years, but the theory is we should have so that's no big deal? Interesting.

Nope. Not a big deal. The last 6 years have been inconsistent for AU. 2 SEC championships and 2 NC appearances with a final #1 and #2 ranking. But unranked the other 4 years.

Over the last 6 years, UGA is 0-2 against AU teams that finished the season ranked.

About all UGA can say is hey, we beat your bad teams and lost to your good ones.

Not impressive or meaningful at all IMO. Shows Ritch can beat a bad team, but not a good team.

This really is an opportunity for UGA fans...this is where you finally wake up and say enough is enough. NO ONE in the history of college football has consistently done less with more than Mark Richt. UGA ought to be in the national championship picture every year...and is instead a footnote on someone else's season. Every year. 35 STRAIGHT conference games without a victory over an SEC foe with a winning conference record. THIRTY FIVE GAMES.

That's interesting, because it works both ways. AU only beat UGA when they were bad during that stretch as well.

Funny how that works.

Only 4 conference wins, in the last six years, against .500 plus teams? That is hard to believe.

Who are the four?

LSU 2013
USC 2013

Not sure on the other one. Maybe LSU 2008

This stat is really about how shitty we were in 2009 and 2010, and how terrible our schedule was in 2011 and 2012.

UGA plays 8 conf games and 3(Vandy, UK, ten) won't be over 500 any time soon so it's fairly limited chances to even play a .500 team.

I wonder how many UF and USC have in the same timespan.
