And Mettenberger will end up being a better QB than Aj before the season is over.

Well yes, but the posts I'm referencing spoke in a future tense. My point is that this is highly unlikely.

I would bet against that, but I respect your sentiment.

If Mett finishes in 150 efficiency range with around 2800 yards I'll be friggin ecstatic.

Well yeah, it's AJ McCarron. In two years he'll be the guy that won a national championship, but no one can remember his name in casual conversation.
'Who was that qb for Bama, uh, BJ somethin?'
'No, yer thinkin of Josh Parker Wilbon.'

OMGZ does LSU still have the top 5 running backs in the country? If so Alabama is fricked....again. I heard the other day that LSU has a package where all 5 play at the same time. Game over Alabama can't win due to running back.

I don't like to think about it but if Mett gets hurt in that game or prior to it and is unable to play, I think we have some real challenges. Les will close down the passing game and we'll become one-dimensional running between the tackles. Sound familiar?

Alabama doesn't lose that much more than LSU. Funny how people count guys who didn't start but were in their rotation but not our guys who didn't start but were in the rotation.

The talent is equal despite what LSU fans are preaching. It's going to be a game that could go either way. Some sports books in vegas have both teams with the exact same odds to win the west, SEC, and MNC.
If Hubbard and Dickson can rush the passer in game situations like they have done in practice situations, it wil be a long inght for the LSU offense. With the size and strength of UA's front seven I don't see LSU running the ball with much success so it's going to depend on the execution of the bama pass rush/secondary and the LSU pass blocking/QB

Ok 1st of all
And now for the real discussion:
Mett has certain disadvantages, he will be an upgrade this is true, but think a very similar QB to Mallett without his accuracy, little to no mobility, have to see him in a game dissecting coverage and LSU better damn well HOPE A deep threat WR can emerge, this will be LSU's biggest challenge on O.
LSU's OL and 8 man stable (just pick one Les damn) should be fine in being called on to win games, they are nowhere near Bama's talent on the OL, but for Bama other than Yeldon, who even as a TF looks like he is by far most talented on either team, its a pretty GOOD group like LSU's which is also GOOD, I'll also say this, Dee Hart may be same level as Yeldon against other SEC talent we really don't know yet with him, Yeldon has just stood out so far.
With WR's Bama's have a BIT more experience, but not much, both groups are green, some Bama guys will shock a lot of SEC teams like DeAndrew White and Christion Jones for Bama, and if LSU uses Shep right he could be a big contributor, not sure on other WRs for LSU. I like Bama's group of TE's a lot better, they will be a big part of Bama's O, not as much of am factor in LSU's O.
On D there is no doubt LSU has a stellar group of DL, so does Bama, Bama's stronger at DT/NG though with Jesse Williams, LaMicheal Fanning, Quinton Dial, I'll concede DE's to LSU, but I will say this, if there is any OL who can neutralize the LSU rush (did last yr particularly in NC Game) it's Bama's and they will do it again this year.
LB Bama has some new starting faces, but clear advantage with the unbelievable talent and stellar recruiting Bama has seen at the LB position, consider that Bama signed 2 ILB's I would dare say could push for PT as a TF at LSU. LSU has a talented group that will have to prove itself.
At CB LSU has major advantages, both units return a few players, LSU returns more starters, Bama has more depth but a few starters haven't seen SEC competition and I have to see how they do against it to make a determination. Reid will be BIG for LSU, HB7 will play his role and be a great returner, SEC hasn't seen Belue yet as a CB or returner but he will have a strong impact for Bama, Milliner may be the best COVER corner out of the whole group and will regularly shut down the opponents top WR this year. Robert Lester is Bama's only returning S with starting experience, but a nice group of talent just inexperienced
Game is in BR, I'll still give coaching advantage to Saban
It will be a great game

No way LSU can lose. They're just too good.

Well if returning a lot of starters on an offense that couldn't break the 50 is a good predictor of success than I'd hate to see what real offenses like Ole Miss and Miss St. put up on Bama.
Save the home field advantage BS you shoved down our throats about "our dome" last year. How many times did you guys say "if you couldn't beat us in your place imagine how bad it will be IN THE DOME"
You guys couldn't score a touchdown in in 8+ quarters of football and you wonder how they could lose???
Until proven otherwise LSU talking shite about Alabama is on par with Ole Miss fans talking shite to Alabama, it's completely baseless.

This is such a stupid thread, how is it possible to lose? Injuries, having a bad game. Like any other game, you could still lose. LSU could very well lose to Florida, Auburn, or even A&M. It only takes one bad game to lose, the better team doesn't always win. I will say the game in November will be a great one

see I'm not so bad once you engage me huh?
I have this terrible rep for some reason based off my extreme homerism with regards to Bama recruiting

I think the talent is pretty equal.
Whatever team has better QB play will win the game.
