I got a text from ESPN today. It didn't mention J. Jackson. Anyone know more about this?

JJ is too valuable. He is a keeper.

My intial reaction, but that seems a bit much, especially if he is in the same exact boat as the other two players. It would be hard to spin that.

I saw 1 other, started at the exact same time as this one, and the title was confusing as hell. Maybe we all get the same ESPN updates

Only true if they all have an equal roles which they didnt Edwards and Nu'keese approached the car with the "guns" JJ didn't.

Anyway happy they are gone

Jackson isn't in the same boat as the other two, he was released without being charged. IMO he is just as guilty but you can't make a snap ruling, look at the penn state player who was booted and turned around and sued.

Did something change over the weekend? The last I heard he had been released on his own recognizance (meaning let out of jail without having to post bail up front) but still had the same charges pending.

University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday that freshman wide receiver Nu’Keese Richardson and defensive back Mike Edwards have been permanently dismissed from the football team.

“After extensive and thorough research of the situation over the last four days and considering various disciplinary options, I’ve decided it’s in the best interest of our program to remove Nu’Keese and Mike,” Kiffin said. “As I’ve said many times before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Our student-athletes must be responsible members of society, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated.

“We want a positive culture for our student-athletes that allows them to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life after college. My hope is that these two young men will learn from their terrible decision. Clearly, their actions have no place in our program.”

Janzen Jackson will continue to not be allowed to participate in team activities while Kiffin awaits additional information.

Wasn't Nukeese the guy that went to Pahokee in Florida that committed to Tenn late? I think he was an original commit to UF. Was he the one that Lane said Meyer called on his visit to UT?

Funny shite.

But if he had nothing to do with it, he should get out of it...right? Don't get me wrong, he should be suspended for the rest of the year just for being there, but if the guy didn't hold the gun or wear the mask, I don't see a reason to kick him off.

So Kiffin's lesson to his players is don't commit armed robbery, or any other felony... unless you're a 5 star recruit?
