There are more than enough data points on Sark to know he's never going to win it all yet they keep picking us. Maybe one day they'll learn.

Arkansas is replacing their QB and head coach and went winless in the SEC in 2025. Would be shocked if they beat either one of these teams.

Alabama loses to MSU

No offense MSU, I think Kamario Taylor has potential as a college QB, but your team just isn't there yet

Mizzou makes the CFP

Road games at Georgia and Ole Miss paired with home games against Texas and Oklahoma make this one not very likely. Although, this one might be the most likely of this entire list

John Mateer - Heisman finalist

Does anyone really still believe that John Mateer is an elite QB?

Tennessee - goes .500

Their schedule is actually pretty tough with @Georgia Tech, vs. Texas, vs. Alabama, @A&M, vs. LSU, and @ Vandy. They would need to lose all of these games to go .500 though, so that feels like a bit of an overshoot.

Texas - National Champs

Texas will have a talented roster again but has 5 games against top 15 teams on their schedule next year. I don't think Arch Manning has the juice to win it all.

Two Final 4s in the last 3 seasons. The only coach who has accomplished that.

They have learned that there's no better way to drive traffic to an article than by claiming Texas will win the national championship. Always has been.

Sark will have the most talented roster he's had, but of course the season will depend on the OL, which will have to significantly improve from last year.

Yep. Same reason why preseason picks always has Notre Dame in the top 10.

God that guy sucks so hard. They would've been a middle of the pack team at 7-5 or worse if they didn't have their stout defense.

This is the most likely to be accurate only because Arkansas is schizophrenic and randomly decides to give teams a fight.

But none of those things are happening.

You forget that they get us again. The combined score from Mike Elko vs Eli Drinkwitz is 79-27. I expect losses to Georgia, Texas, A&M, and maybe Oklahoma.

Would love to be wrong about Sark. I don't think I am, but I'd gladly eat crow.

But they did have that stout defense, didn't they?

As a matter of fact, they still do.

Can't go .500 with a 9 team conference schedule but the SEC really did them some favors giving them SC, Kentucky, Auburn, Vandy with no Pavia, and Arkansas.

It's just so hard to know if it will happen or not. The same exact thing was said about almost all national title winning coaches before they won one.

Sark was a bounce or two away from winning it in 2024 against OSU. They would have likely beaten ND. Day was a missed FG away from winning it in 2022 likely. The coach can't control what players do in certain situations. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't

If Sark wins it this year, you will have tons of people still saying he's not a great coach. You will also have people saying they knew he would win one b/c he has infinite resources etc.
