She was desperate to get out of the SEC. She’d been rumored for the Northwestern job for weeks.

A good coach but she could never get past the first weekend.

Rumors coming out that Mulkey is interested. Can imagine Oats and Mulkey at the same school? It's almost like Wade and Mulkey

Seems like it's an odd move from Alabama to South Florida...

Just guessing:

No state tax.

Maybe she’s got grandkids.

Husband likes golf.

South Florida will be less of a grind and she can recruit. Again this has been rumored for weeks so it’s obvious she wanted out, whether it be out of Alabama or out of the conference.

This surprises me. She had Alabama tourney bound yearly with some runs.

Tampa > Tuscaloosa

She's been making $500k to $600k for several years. Made $700k this past season.

Tampa traffic is the worst, though.

Saban obviously liked Bama fans more than our former WBB coach.

Any chance we can pull Molly Miller from ASU?

I'm on board. She just needs to be willing to take an 80% pay cut.

Bama isn’t willing to invest in women’s basketball. Mulkey makes 3 million a year. So it would probably take 4 to 5 million to pull Mulkey from LSU

I wouldn’t say they’re unwilling to invest. It doesn’t mean I think they’re about to drop a bag for a top coach.

Byrne hired Oats when he was an unknown and it’s worked out. I predict he’ll attempt to do the same with this hire.
