A good coach but she could never get past the first weekend.

She got all the juice she could get out the lemon. Always had them in the tourney but she couldn't get higher without more money for the program.

I knew Bama loses a lot of football coaches to other schools, but it’s crazy to see it also happen in WBB.

Why? Women's basketball is a waste of money.

ETA: Softball is entertaining. Women's basketball isn't.

Bama isn’t willing to invest in women’s basketball. Mulkey makes 3 million a year. So it would probably take 4 to 5 million to pull Mulkey from LSU

I’ll take the down votes for this misogynistic take (according to liberals) but WtH would anyone invest 3mill in a women’s basketball coach to run a sport that no matter how successful it is essentially a drain on the athletic department. It just doesn’t make business sense to me.

I went to high school with a girl that was on that Alabama Final Four team in the 90s. Kind of died after those good teams.

I didn't even know what Bama's WBB coach looked like before this post.

Should have kept it that way.

Golum.

Football team just in the SECCG and made the CFP quarterfinals.
Basketball team in the Sweet 16.

If that's fading, LSU's athletic program completely disappeared years ago.

Leave Kirby alone, man. He is actually super handsome in real life. I think that Kirby is pretty dreamy.

I don’t care who Bama hires for WBB coach. Point still stands. I’m not saying don’t have a WbB team it provides athletic scholarships for those girls. My point is why invest that kind of money in a sport that will never be profitable to a university. I love college baseball but until Alabama fans are filling up stands and they’re at least breaking even why would I hire a Jay Johnson type coach who will cost tens of millions a year to lose money.

She's 60. If history is an indicator, Bryne already has her replacement.
