Going forward in this current CFP environment it’s just DUMB. As much as it sucks… opening weekend premiere OOC games should also be cancelled….

Cancel the SEC Championship game also… another “less loss”.

What we need is a ban on anyone playing FCS teams. Only one non-P4 a year. I get the argument to have a better chance at the playoff but fewer cupcakes makes the season more fun.

To be fair, he may simply want to edit the font for the published schedule. I'm not sure why that would have him so worked up, though.

Wrong. Nine games are great improvement in scheduling and fan interest.

You think anyone in the corporate offices of the NCAA or the SEC give a shite about the product being "fun" for fans at this point?

Then youll never beat the B1G in the post season again.

They have 18 teams and half of them are worse than FCS teams.

Its physiology and load management. You cant have a conference playing tune ups with 2 marquis games all year going to the playoffs and match that with a 16 team conference that sent their top 5 to the playoffs alone with 2 others that barely missed it beating up on each other

The SEC schedule (8 or 9 games) has nothing to do with the CFP when half the SEC flat out sucked. It’s no longer a “gauntlet” to get through.

You are living in the past. The Big Ten of 2022 is not the Big Ten of 2026. The idea that the middle and bottom of the SEC would just walk all over the middle of the Big Ten comes from bias of an era that the SEC dominated every other conference at every level of the conference.

It just isn't true anymore with the portal and NIL.

Indiana won the B1G, and Miami got in by beating Notre Dame in the regular season. Not seeing where the outcome would be different.

Absolutely. The only reason to have them in the playoff era is if they become a de facto opening round, then you would have only 8 playoff teams instead of 12.

As it is, they need to go. With large conferences, there are just going to be multiple co-champions.

Agreed. If we stay at nine games, there is nothing wrong with having SEC co champs, if their records are the same and they don’t play each other head to head. Both should get in the playoff without having the extra game nonsense.

Agreed, the solution IMHO is compel everybody schedule better teams not all play the Citadel and Lehigh in games that nobody wants to watch.
