re: Best era for home building?

Posted by mdomingue on 7/15/26 at 10:05 pm to
There is no right answer. It depends on where they were built and what codes were enforced in that area. The 60s and 70s were rife with irregular and bad construction. Also, for homes built then, they used a lot of aluminum wiring, which can be problematic.
Wouldn't 4th of July fare seem appropriate? Burgers, ribs, etc? Pastalaya seems like a decent choice, too.

have you ever met fishermen from S. La?

Or N. La? Or Miss? Or Arkansas? Or Alabama? Or Texas? Or Florida?

Think she’s listed at 6’2

She's listed as 6'0, but her bio mentions her listed height (6'2) in High School

HIGH SCHOOL

I can see how a childish person could reach that conclusion.

No shite. It seems like just yesterday I was in the Dome watching Marcus Spears pick-6 Jason White.
It does not get better, my friend.

Plus side, I do get my hunting/fishing license for $5.00 and can claim senility when I make a mistake in recollection

Notre Dame 1997.

Cold, gray, miserable, and we played like crap.

Yep, and we got tickets from my wife's boss, a Notre Dame alumnus. So we were sitting in the middle of the visitors' section. The people were pretty nice, but if I never hear that darn "here come the Irish" BS again, it'll be too soon.

The 2007 Arkansas game was even worse for me. Probably the coldest game I have ever been to, and I left thinking we had blown our shot at a national championship.

But the first game to come to my mind was the 2017 homecoming game vs Troy. That was an awful game.

I was offshore for the A&M game last year, so I missed that fiasco, at least.
!980 LSU-FSU: LSU lost 16-0. 13 points for FSU off turnovers.

He was always undersized and a tweener with no true position. He never got past that so it wasn't hard to scheme around his athleticism.

Initially, teams were not prepared for his athleticism. And he relied on that too much, so what you saw later (and for some reason our fans mostly ignored this) was him being shepherded upfield past the QB and losing containment. Which killed up vs running QBs and on delayed runs. Then he got hurt. He did look much better the second half of 2025, though.
