You don’t count.

No they don’t.
I do, I'm an LSU fan. So you are wrong again, non LSU fan

I've never seen 12 wins make it into the post season in a 30 game conference season.
Three that I have found.
Moo State 2006 12-17 (37–23), Did not make the SEC Tournament
Vanderbilt 2009 12-17 (37-27) Lost in SEC Tournament finals (3-1)
Alabama 2021 12-17 (32–26) Won 2 in SEC Tournament (2-2)
Oddly enough, they all were 12-17 because one game was cancelled. And another oddity is that if LSU wins out, they will end up 32-26.
So I am back to maybe if LSU wins out and wins 2 SEC tournament games, they could get a bid. I don't expect all that to happen, but it would look a lot like 2021 Bama if they did.

dare I say we may have hope if we sweep florida and win a couple in hoover? maybe a 5 game win streak gets us in?
That is probably accurate in terms of the results of that outcome. I am not sure the outcome is likely, though.
But what the heck, I'm in! :nana: :nana: :geauxtigers::lsu:

But it you prefer to bump things back, it will be only the 5th time in 41 years, since 1985
Or bump it up to the 5th time in 38 years (Skips 5th season). My point is to start with Skip's first year. Do it by coach. That gives a little more perspective.

Any way you frame it, it has been one of the worst seasons since the majority of fans started paying attention to baseball with any degree of interest.
Which is why you should frame it in a way that does not look like you are shading it in any way.
Here is the reality of LSU baseball. We are framing it with Skip in the equation, but since Skip, 24 seasons if you don't count the COVID season, LSU has won 3 national championships, two under this coach. This will be the 4th time we have missed the playoffs post Skip, which would be once every 6 seasons. Prior to Johnson getting here, we had missed 3 times in 19 seasons, which is just under once every 6 seasons. While I am not happy with the outcome of the season, I am also not particularly disturbed by it. If it happens again next season, I'll be more concerned.

Makings of something truly special. But the piped in music, will kill it and make Tiger Stadium just like any other mega stadium with great sound acoustics. The piped in music truly takes the fans out of BEING THE MAIN FEATURE, like it was for 100 years prior. We never fail as a fan base until the Last 10 years, it’s been a concert you dance a long and go with the music. That’s fine, anytime and anywhere else. But LOUISIANA Saturdays in Death Valley are made fore fans that have chip on the shoulder, liquored up and pissed off and they are going to let it rip for 4 hours. People are argue it’s the same…. It’s not all
Tiger droppings has a lot of power, next 4 months we need to let it be known if you believe piped in music is ruining the history of Death Valley and just normalizing us to everybody else in sports.

Otherwise basically the same team.
You forgot Michael Brasswell; only 3 of the 9 starters (position players and DH) from 2025 were on this team. One of those was out for a significant part of the season.

Or maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, I wasn't really trying to assign blame and felt a little like rattling your chain. :booboo:
I probably owe you an apology for that.

No.

So you’re telling me every coach for the last 42 years, including Skip, had at least 1 dud in their first 5 seasons?
Yeah, but Skip's came into a much worse situation. He had been to two CWS before his second dud (year 5). Then no duds for 13 straight

This will be only the 4th time in 37 years LSU hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament.

37 years
Why did you start here?
The NCAA baseball tournament started in 1947. This will be the 79th year they have had it (cancelled once due to COVID). LSU has missed it 42 times. made it 37 times. But they missed the first 38 and 39 of the first 42.
Skip made it 16 of 18 seasons, 3 of his first 5. 5 NCs
Smoke made it 4 of 5 times. 0 NCs
Paul made it 12 of 14 seasons, 3 in his first 5 (Paul was here 15 years but COVID cancelled one year). 1 NC
Jay has made it 4 of 4 seasons so far, but will likely miss this season and be 4 of 5. 2 NC.
I only say likely for this season because I have seen strange things happen in my time, so I'll wait for the corpse to stop twitching before I declare it dead. But nothing I have seen against good competition gives me a lot of hope.

Most available are on the east side with some lower bowl, some in the bowl but under the overhang (not sure how much shade that provides) and of course the upper levels.
Just curious whats yall experiences.
We have bought single-game tickets in the east lower bowl under the overhang for an afternoon game before we had season tickets; that was pretty good. The overhang was not an issue at all.
We had season tickets in the east uppers for a year; they are bad for early night starts until the sun dips below the west uppers, brutal for afternoon games.
Got lower east tickets for a few games before we had season tickets. If you are not under the overhang, for an afternoon game, it is also brutal. The sun gets below the west side quicker in the lowers so the early starts for night games aren't as bad.
Currently, our season tickets are in the west upper chairbacks. We like them.
ETA: we moved our tickets after year 1. So if you don't like your tickets, just sign up to move them next year. I sign up almost every year just to see what options I have. Tiger Terrace are nice if you want to spend the money and they are available. The price is closer to the lower bowl than the upper bowl, but the view of the field may be the best in the stadium.

Baseball wouldn’t be what is today with out skip.
This is true to a degree, certainly for SEC baseball and absolutely for LSU baseball. Changing dynamics in MLB have also contributed to the rise in college baseball.
quote:
So anything saying he wouldn’t do something in the sport today is just dumb
It's incredibly dumb, but that is not the same as saying he would probably not be as dominant.
The fact that he built LSU into what it is from the haphazard program it was when he got here says all you need to know about Skip.
