Same.

Still can't bring myself to read Go Set a Watchman though
Also the same.
It was initially published as though it were a sequel. It is, in fact, the initial draft of what ended up as To Kill a Mockingbird. From what I understand, her publisher advised her to rewrite the story from the perspective of young Scout rather than the older Scout.

Don't want the story to change in my mind.
It won't for me if I decide to read it.

idea why?
Lazy fricking kids….
Would rather play video games…
Uncoachable kids….
The kids themselves are only a small part of the problem.
Crappy coaches who favor their kid and his friends.
Burnt-out coaches who get tired of dealing with parents who think their kid is the next phenom.
Too many sporting options available, spreading the pool of available players across multiple sports
Youth sports that focus on simply winning rather than teaching fundamentals and love of the game.
Travel leagues that are driving local rec leagues (where kids can play a sport with their neighborhood buddies) into oblivion, especially since COVID. This is particularly true in baseball.
re: LSU Football Players you've always wondered why they never panned out?

Good list; I would add a few guys, some who were good or even very good, depending on your perspective, but felt like they had more to give but were not able to because of injury, bad decisions, or leaving too early.
Trev Faulk (left too soon)
John Emery (several injuries)
Ryan Perriloux (bad decisions)
Myles Brennan(core injury)

I use this one
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLGTRS5P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
It has done well for me.
Also, people suggesting Anker as a very reliable brand are not wrong.

It's sales tax. This is not new. Looks like you live in a high sales tax parish

You gonna be there, too?

$2k for a piped in music concert
Price is priced right for what Death Valley used to be, but now it’s just a big concert, over priced
If someone pays it, it's priced right. If they don't, it's overpriced. That's how supply and demand work.
It's not "if I'm not willing to pay it(which I personally would not be), it's overpriced".
People are expecting a good product this year, and there is excitement around the program.
FTR, I have yet to sell my season tickets to a game. If we can't make it, we give them away.

It's a little concerning, but not so much so that it needs a new thread every other day or more.

LSU always struggles in Lexington for some reason
The last win in Lexington was in 2002, but they have only played them there twice since then. Once was a 3OT loss in 2007 and the other was a 42-21 blowout in 2021.
LSU is 40-18 vs Kentucky overall
24-6 in Tiger Stadium
Only 16-12 in Lexington.

Rough patch, Jim. I don't know if you've had time to grieve properly.
It may hit you like a ton of bricks when you finally get through all the legalities.
I don't know if it will mean anything to you, but you're in my prayers, my friend.

but an extra $100 will get you paper tickets.
That sounds like the good ole LSU nickel and dime lol
Sounds like the typical economic migration model. It also costs money for the cardstock with perforations and to get those tickets printed.

Now the start of football season is officially close.
I always look forward to your unofficial depth charts, my man

Not to interrupt y'all's little spat but the graphic in the OP very specifically says it includes championship games.
Well, I missed that
quote:
why would the conference championship game not be considered a conference game? most consider it that in records
They are considered postseason games and are counted in win totals, but are not considered conference games. If you look at their conference records in the record books, they do not count the Championship game toward the conference record.
The same is true of the Sugar Bowl games in 1953, 1960, 1964, all of which had two SEC teams. The last one in 1964 was Alabama over Ole Miss 12-7, which was a Bear Bryant win.
Regardless of all that, this is an interesting discussion, to say the least. Might be interesting to look at their respective records vs SEC teams including their time at A&M and Mich State including all postseason game and including vacated wins (which I think are generally stupid)
ETA:
quote:
thanks for making me feel like a DA
Apparently that was me since the graphic does specifically state it includes championship games. :dope:
SO it is the vacated games, which are kind of dumb IMO
