New coach - timing

Posted by Tdubs7 on 11/12/25 at 6:22 am
How important is it that the new HC be in place for Dec. high school signing day and transfer portal opening?

Assuming several candidates would still be in season, are the first-year classes for new coaches typically considered a wash (or I guess a success if you keep the existing kids committed and don’t lose key layers to the portal)?

There it is. It's always easy to peg the bottom feeders of the message board world. Thanks for stepping up

What does that mean? This is a message board and we're fans. Anyone with eyes, ears and half a brain can observe and judge.
Typical Louisiana circus in a state and flagship institution that is considered a cesspool by so many metrics. I'm sure those candidates will in fact say, "you're damn right, I am NOT one of them".

We'll go get that desperate up-and-comer or past-their-prime guy and hope for the best.

The only embarrasment is poster,so-called fans, who are constantly negative toward any thing LSU.

Or those that are so naive, they see everything through a purple and gold lens and ignore objective facts.

Have you ever been to Gainesville?

Yes, lived in Tampa for 10 years and been to Gainesville plenty. Also, “been to BR”. Long time LSU season ticket holder and Gainesville is much nicer.

Florida has the resources to handsomely fund their program year after year (and it wouldn’t take a coach putting up $1 mil of his own money).

I hate the Gators but it is what it is.

Gainesville is nicer than BR, FL has more money than LSU and they have a better governor
Fans whining about officiating is more insulting
I question how much that hamster is running on your wheel. (Same to you, “but the refs” crowd).

We lost the game because we have no discipline, untimely false starts, fumbles, short passes into the boundary, a weak offensive line, allergies to passes between the hashes or over the top to 4.3 guys, slow developing handoffs, timeouts on 1st drives, a QB that has lost all decision making ability and has lead in his cleats, etc, etc. Absolute coaching malpractice that started a LONG time ago.

That offense was all Kelly and Sloan. You can’t change philosophy, lingo, assignments, technique, etc in a week.

Losers blame refs

4th and inches anywhere on the field, you are not required to commit a false start and go back 5 yards.
Not thinking we’re supposed to have a false start when it’s 1st and Goal at the 1 to make it 1st and Gaol at the 6.
Oh great, on top of Landry’s aimless drivel and a dysfunctional school administration, the country gets a view of the fanbase’s bottom feeders.
We went to Clemson this year and they piped music between every play. South Carolina last year too. Assume most schools are.
He would have the same resources at Florida, a better governor and Gainesville is a helluva lot nicer than BR.
from fiction to fact. From a big time program that simply needs the right head coach to a stereotypical Louisiana corrupt, backwoods dumpster fire.
