The only reason this game was a storyline with so much tension is because Lane is an elite coach. Looking forward.

Including the best QB in the country. LSU retained 34% of returning snaps. This is Ole Miss's LAST chance before going back to 7 or 8 wins a year. Kiffin isn't losing to UL Monroe or Troy this year. Bring on the Aggies.

A beat down by LSU like we were used to seeing pre-Lane in Oxford. Take the drama out and whining by the University of Mississippi, and this game just doesn’t seem close from a personnel perspective. What am I missing?

likely for the season (well, only reason besides Ole Miss acting like a 3 year old that can’t shake a temper tantrum) and that is because Lane Kiffin is an elite coach and he’s ours. This would not be happening otherwise. Geaux Tigers!

I don't feel either way since we pay folks a $hitload of money to manage the situation. My focus is on week 3 of college football and 1) what we're cooking, 2/ what's on tap and 3) what time I am switching to bourbon.

I think this defense has something different. Don’t care who you play, but not allowing a single rushing yard in the first half two weeks ago and giving up only 3 points on a short field is pretty damn impressive.

Not a lot of film study or things to work on with a 70-7 blowout and starters sitting by the third quarter. Every great team has sloppy a game like this, so if that’s the one then much better than later in the schedule.

Having moved away from Louisiana—living in Tampa, Cincinnati, and now Charlotte—you realize LSU's brand doesn't carry the universal weight people in the region assume it does. We aren't Notre Dame, and we don't have a truly independent national footprint that can command standalone network money.
If we hit the open market alone, an Amazon or Apple deal would likely top out around $45M a year. Networks pay premium dollars for inventory—meaning a full slate of games every single Saturday. Buying standalone rights for an independent LSU just gets them 6 or 7 home games a year against whoever is actually willing to schedule us. Getting booted from the SEC would destroy our leverage and cut our payout nearly in half.

To thrive as an independent. Forget wins and losses. ND’s brand/program value is estimated at $2.1 billion compared to $1.3B for LSU. ND has been a national brand for decades and that will never go away. We’ve all seen the athletic budget. LSU’s loss of revenue sharing would kill baseball and the other athletic programs. We need to be in a conference.

Does attending two minicamps, Broncos and Browns, not add up to a player in a fall NFL camp? Either Kiffin did nothing wrong or they’re all wrong.
