Offensive Gameplan for Oklahoma

Idk what the answer is on offense, but I know what Grubb is cooking up.
First drive we go Jam Miller up the gut on first down - stuffed.
Second down we do some goofy WR end around that goes for 2 yards.
Third down, Ty gets blitzed and throws it out of bounds.
Punt.
I expect a heavy dose of Jam Miller and Daniel Hill up the gut for an average of 1.2 ypc. Grubb is convinced that running the ball is the answer lol

Pls don't share this with Oklahoma.
But if that's what the Grubbster is cooking up, then good on him, because that sounds like good eatin.

Life is finite and you spent precious time typing this bullshite nobody cares about.

Glue Ty's butt to the bench and we win.

Found this to be accurate, funny, depressing, and insightful.

Other than the "insightful" part - yeah. It summed up every game but one out of the last 6

Grubb thinks if he keeps running up the gut on 1st down religiously then it’s going to pay off one of these days. That’s how you out scheme your opponent he says. Because when they think “he surley won’t waste another 1st down play up the middle again.” Well yes Grubb does it again and again.

Well, dang. People complain that he doesn’t run the ball enough and that’s why he got fired from Seattle, and then when he does commit to it, he gets beat up. Guy can’t make anybody happy.

There is a lot to answer for in the offseason amongst this offensive staff. This inability to run effectively is unacceptable. Something has got to change and it is easier to change coaches than change the players even with the portal.

having watched this grubb offense all season. ive come to understand that theres no ebb n flo, no rhyme or reason, its probably the most schizophrenic offensive play calling ive ever seen, with all due respect to people dealing with schizophrenia. its like his greatest thrill in life is 3rd n long.
i fully expect the same gameplan at ok as the first time, just hoping no turnovers.

We ran the ball 9 times (not counting the qb) I think against Georgia, I bet 6 of them were on first down. It’s not hard to know Grubbs tendencies, earlier in the year was harder and looked like the playbook was more open.

Exactly. This is the 2nd season in a row we've seen the offense get WORSE over the season.
It's mind-boggling. How do they manage to make QBs worse with more reps? How do they manage to make the offense more dysfunctional and have less of an identity with more reps?
Apparently some people who know football think these guys are clueless. When you see the results it makes you wonder...

Completely agree!!
It’s like Grubb has no clue as to setting something up based on what has been seen by the D on film or in the game. Just complete random shite thrown together. He is so elementary compared to Kiffin and Sark.

Some of you need to gain some perspective. You don’t get this far without being a good coach. And you don’t win in Athens completing a high percentage of third downs or put up over 400 yards of offense on a great Oklahoma defense without knowing what you’re doing.
This is by no means a finished product. But these guys are professionals. You think some arm chair knows more than they do? You don’t think they want to improve?
That all said a lot of problems, if not all of them, are solved if the OL improves. It’s been a mess for 5 years now. Constant changing of OL coaches and philosophy has helped matters.

Let’s just fire someone every time there’s a bad outcome. See how that works out for us. Some of y’all are so god damn spoiled you can’t reason at all.

They make a ton of money, they aren’t immune from criticism on a fan message board.
I’m sure they want to improve, but you can criticize a guy for doing less than plenty of other teams who have less talent

For the last 24 hours I've been doing some deep dive research into Grubb's history beyond "he didn't get along with Mike McDonald" and "he don't run the damn bawll, Pawll."
The issues we are seeing now didn't just appear with the Seahawks, they were present at Washington even in the year they went to the championship game. He was saved at Washington by the exceptional talent he had at quarterback and wide receiver.
And that is what's becoming increasingly obvious about this guy, he cannot function unless he's got better talent than his opponent and he is simply incapable of adjusting what he does when the flow of the game or a game situation changes. He's also tunnel visioned about the QB, doesn't seem to care about the rest of the offense, and while the QB is the most important person in this offense, opponents are going to feast and you're not going to win if he's the only person in the offense.
This is going to sound hypocritical because I've been preaching that scheming and "coaching them up" is overblown, especially in 21st century football and if you simply aren't good. And I still don't think our running backs and offensive line are very good.
But a coach can do things to minimize his team's disadvantages and reduce an opponent's advantages, and I don't think he's capable of doing it.
I'm now on the "we need to move on" train. Because I don't know if it's wise to expect that we will perpetually have a 2023 Washington quality QB and WR room. I'd like to think we could, but I think having that as an expectation is a stretch and again I don't know if Grubb can function without those advantages.
And I am hoping DeBoer doesn't let friendship sway his thinking.
