Bucky Ball looks encouraging. I still need to learn the roster. At first, I thought we were going to just jack up 40 3’s a game, but have driven to the hoop a lot too. I like it. The team is moving the ball around a lot. The guy we got from Spain has a nice deep ball.

3 of our 4 top guards didn't play

We played a team from the Dakotas

I'll let you know after we play the Johnnies in MSG on Saturday.

We need this non conference slate to get the team gelling. I think we don’t get Mackenzie Mgbako back from injury until December.

It’s gonna be weird watching Auburn with no Broome.

We're going to be a completely different style team from the last few years with no significant inside presence. I'm guessing it'll take at least half the season for AU to find it's identity, but there is plenty of talent to be a solid tournament team by the end of the season.

I've seen them practice several times since summer, so there were no real surprises in the first game. You have a bunch of guys who have never played together before, and you are missing a guy whose jersey will hang from the rafters, along with an excellent 6'10" defender.

This year's team does have potential. It also has a long way to go. It will look very different from what we have watched the last two years, more like the 2019 team (if the pieces come together). They will play zone, run, live and die from 3 and on the back of Keshawn Hall.

I expect there will be numerous bumps in the road. We play Houston, Arizona, Purdue, NC State, and Oregon before we even get to the SEC schedule.

Totally different team and expectations, but basically the same staff.

Too small in the backcourt, not skilled enough in the front.

I’ll tell you next week. Going to have some growing pains for sure, but I’m optimistic that we have talent… just needs to gel.

I wasn't overly impressed last night. I realize that there's got to be a load of playing together before everybody can get comfortable and play smooths out, but with St. Johns, Purdue, Illinois, Gonzaga, and UNLV coming up in less that 3 weeks......

LSU might be a little better this year. Seem to have a legit guard running the team in Dedan Thomas.

Bama will probably get off to a rough start due to the schedule. I think by tournament time should be solid.

Arkansas looks good so far and has nice depth for a change, we’ll know more after the Michigan State game this weekend.

I literally forgot McMahon was still there. You guys think he’s on the hot seat this year?

I think we can be a Final Four team but there is going to be some growing pains with the new Guards in the early non-SEC schedule. I think by SEC play we will look like a Final Four contender.

We look like somewhere between a 4 and a 6 seed from first impression.

We have a lot of get up and go on the team. There will be some time needed to get everyone on the same page but playing decent teams in the pre-season was a good choice.
