The hillbilly SEC made a huge mistake selling out to Disney.

9 million YouTube TV subscribers are locked out of SEC content during the peak of the CFB regular season. The SEC is totally beholden to Disney and has no control over he distribution of its content.

The Big Ten was much smarter about the way they set up their TV distribution deal. They insisted on their content being carried across multiple networks. That way, not only does no one entity control all of the rights to their content, they make MORE MONEY because the networks bid against each other for the limited inventory.

The Big Ten is lapping the SEC in the business of college football. The hillbillies in Birmingham set the best sporting conference on the planet back a decade through their stupidity and lack of business acumen.

Part of the new SEC deal with Disney should have definitely included a clause that Disney couldn't do shite like this during football season.

Sankey got taken to the cleaners. Now, instead of being a mouthpiece for the school Presidents, he reports to Disney. He is a paper tiger.

Blame CBS for low-balling the SEC.

Whomever was in charge of that negotiation should be fired into the sun.

I agree with this and the way the B1G handled their contract was better. Still not as bad as the ACC, but it wasn’t great.

Can’t you get a day pass on sling tv?

Seems like the best option for Saturdays if it doesn’t get resolved

Don’t use YouTubeTV.

As a fan the sec deal is awesome. Set it to ABC at 11am and let it ride….

Commentary way better than CBS and less commercials

Is that why they need to sell out to private equity?

3 of today’s games are on ABC which can be watched with an antenna.

That’s more than the old deal.

Weird melt.

The SEC is lapping the B1G in viewership and being locked into ESPN is super helpful in that. You have the most watched sports network fully committed to your success.

It may be a short term loss, but is a long term winning set up

It wasn't that long ago that ESPN got yanked off of Charter Spectrum right as Florida was kicking off. This stuff happens w/every cable and streaming company.

1. CBS wound up paying even more than we asked for like the 5th or 6th choice of Big Ten games so they are taking their L on their own.

2. We should have been negotiating with FOX, NBC, and whomever wanted to cough up top dollar for us.

You can watch SEC all day & night on ABC which is why they are dominating the ratings while the CBS game of the week is now a big who gives a shite.

This was a great deal for the SEC.

I honestly had no idea how bad it has been.

The last 3 weeks in the middle of conference matchups the SEC on ABC has taken the 1 2 AND 3 spots in CFB ratings.

SEC teams on ABC have been the top rated game each week and I think 2 of the top 3 in every single week.

The only big ten team to be on the top slot was Michigan. Which was their game against OU and on….abc.

Lol, you think the SEC gives a shite about this. They get their money whether 9m less people watch it or not. Those fans aren't going to just lose interest because they couldn't watch their team for one or two weeks.

I said it at the time and I’ll say it again.

The big ten got more money but the SEC got more exposure.

Right or wrong ESPN owns the conversation and they have a vested interest in propping up the SEC.
