Is it butchering when you remove trees that someone else added later to return to the course to the original design?

Every course looked like that in that era. You could say the same for Augusta when it opened. Doesn't mean the course is better for it.

It's his shtick at every single course he redesigns. Cut down all the trees no matter what actually makes for interesting play.

I'm not a fan of Gil Hanse tree butchering, but it does make days like today way more difficult, especially given how challenging the greens are

Higgos interview was hilarious

When he said “I’m not all there even at my best of times” I lost it

"I was obviously there on time, but late” is an all timer

Higgo might be my new favorite player.

HIggo needs to lose by 1 now after firing what would have been the clubhouse lead

Bryson's iron play is... well, something

He’s too far down the rabbit hole, imo.

Yeah, his ego wont let me step back from the schtick

He's also as slow as ever if not worse. Cantlay bad.

Rory said it's going to be bombs away and short wedges in. Not much trouble to get in off the tee.

What you get when Gil Hanse comes in and cuts down all the trees like he does on every course.

Go to the Gorge and the waterfalls. Forest Park is amazing for being directly in the city, but the Gorge is special.

The Gorge to the airport is close. 30-40 mins.
Nobody is rooting for LIV to fold harder than Rahmbo

He's listed in the field for the PGA. Whether he plays or not, I guess we'll see

He's back tweeting about Sable so maybe things are getting back to normal

It's been a thing. I guess NIL has probably made it grow even more, though.

Getting $15K in NIL money is a big deal if you are a 24 year old Kenyan runner

You had Kenyan runners coming over before, but largely because they wanted a US education (and many became US citizens largely by joining the military). Now there's a pretty significant financial incentive for runners who wouldn't move the needle in Kenya, but can be stars in the NCAA.

29 of the top 50 at NCAA XC last year were Kenyan
One of the worst tournaments of the year so far. No redeeming quality.

Putting it on the same weekend as F1 was exceptionally dumb.

Maybe I am naive to the assets LIV has at these events, but I don't know why the DPWT would be interested. Why not just create their own events in South Africa and Australia after seeing how successful they can be.

They co-sanction the Australian Open and South African Open already. Would be great if they could get those prize purses larger. Royal Melbourne is a top 10 course in the world and would be great to have an elite field there.

Clearly those are underserved markets
