I know it's forgotten because we got the W, but WTF. A first down wins the game...and THAT was the call?!?!? Might as well have just done a QB kneeldown.

Agreed keeping it on the ground...but just having Ty fake a handoff and keep it around the end would have at least been an attempt at getting the first.

Glad it didn't cost us, but sure could have. Real head scratcher from Grubb.

I think they expected to at least get close enough for a 4th and 1.

I don't have an issue with it we were running well. I think if they gained two yards the was an easy go

Totally agree. That was dumb play call. A nice roll out with a run pass option would have been perfect

We are getting better on the ground with Miller but I have no trust that this team can get a tough yard or two on the ground to win a ball game.

And my belief is proving itself out with finesse play calling decisions in those situations and the results whenever we do try to run it.

Yeah, just let Ty keep it on a PA bootleg and slip a TE out. If it's there it's there, if not just eat it and punt.

EVERY 3rd and short play should be Ty on a bootleg with the option to run or pass. No need to run anything else.

We clearly feel like we need to pass in those situations. That says all you need to know. We have had success with QB sneak on inches instead of yard(s) to go.

Like you, didn’t mind running but would have appreciated a little creativity.

That entire series was crap.

I agree. Should’ve ran some drag routes or curls for a quick pass. What has driven me crazy about this offense is Ty doesn’t take what they give him. We don’t need 20 yards for a 3rd and 4, but we have 3-4 wide receivers running 10+ yards downfield.

Red zone and short yardage situations are going to be an issue as long as they can't run. Running game is inconsistent even with Miller, but it's just a liability without him.

Ultimately the problem is our run game sucks, and Daniel Hill sucks.

The call isn't necessarily bad, because I think we go for it on 4th and short.

We just suck in executing the run game.

I kept waiting for a naked bootleg but never called one…the way they were pursuing the ball carrier, I think it would have worked

We have that role out and toss play in the playbook that no one has stopped yet.

I just rewatched and slo motioned it,. Had Simpson faked the handoff, and ran around the left side, I think he'd still be running. The DE on that side came in and no one was on the outside for Mizzou.

I was thinking during those run plays that if Ty keeps and runs outside . . . it’s a TD. They were crashing down each time.

Ty was a little beat up today. We're not sure how he would have handled getting potentially knocked around.

We actually picked one up earlier in the game.
