It’s a different time. If dude doesn’t play, at least as a sophomore, there’s a good chance he’ll go elsewhere.
Correct. Just how it is in the current state of football.
What does credible mean? Do think there is any media person that actually knows the answer to that?
You understand this now how college football works, right? Ohio St is fixing to win it all and they just spent a ton of dough to make that happen.
I think Deboer probably realizes that his job is dependent on winning and showing improvement in year two. Hoping that means the best qb will play regardless of tenure.
Maybe Ty is good and solid, but not great. Makes me a little nervous that he hasn’t been able to beat out Milroe. I know many will answer with “but nobody was going to beat out Milroe this year”. I disagree. Ty could have forced the issue with his play in practice. You won’t convince me that Deboer was willing to take losses just because he believed Milroe deserved to be the starter. If Ty was a clearly better option, he would have started.
Do you think our AD had no idea Saban might retire? Do you think it’s possible he may have done some background work on this before Saban retired? It’s not like Saban retired and our AD jumped out of bed that day and went through the hiring process from A to Z. Do you think if the process took longer we would have hired your boy Kiffin?
You are telling me that players who dream of playing in the NFL would tank their own performance to keep their preferred qb as the starter? I call BS. Poor qb play makes all other positions on offense look bad…O line, receivers, RBs, etc.

Greg McElroys main job is to attract listeners. Listeners like gossip and controversy. We should not fall for it.
And totally tank his draft status? no!
Total fiction. This is so ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever.

You think players who dream about making it to the NFL are going to risk that because they want a particular qb to play. No.
Again, they are trying to fill a roster just like every other team, but if you want to go with the “creating a narrative” story and believe that an LSU is more interested in stealing a player from another team than creating a team that can win, have at it.
So you think a college that is struggling to pull in enough NIL and struggling to even be relevant, can afford to pay players more then their worth, just to “create a narrative”? Ok, that makes sense.
The player is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Those teams are looking for the best players wherever they can find them, just like us.
Don’t you think Alabama is doing the exact same thing? You have too or you won’t compete.
No I didn’t. Alabama is behind several SEC schools in regards to NIL contributions. College football is now “pay for play” and there is no salary cap in place. The team with the biggest budget will most likely get the best players. This totally sucks but it is the current situation we are in until someone fixes the current broken system that has been created.
He didn’t. He just continued being inconsistent.
I know nothing but stoked he’s coming here? How’d he perform at Florida?
