re: Ty Simpson

I think it might be pretty simple. Ty is fantastic when he has plenty of time but struggles a bit when the line doesn’t give him much time. That is probably true for most quarterbacks.

Think maybe he wasn’t ready to play?

Huh? What has he ever done to show he has a bad attitude?
re: 3rd and 3 Play call at the End

We actually picked one up earlier in the game.
Any news on the injuries?

Hoping some of these guys on D are ok. I know we will have one dude out due to the targeting call. How is Qua and others?

Kudos to the O line for giving him time. Still, I agree, he hangs in there without fear and doesn’t give up on the play.

Maybe not but who cares?
Can our D stop the Vandy run game?
Posted by Oreo Speedwagon on 9/28/25 at 7:55 am
Really wondering how this one will go. After last year, we should be motivated. Not to mention the preseason Ryan Williams smack talk. Hope we can contain this qb and stop their run first spread option bs.

Why the hell would he take less? No way that happens. What incentive would he have to take less than his contracted buyout? Just to be nice?
re: Did anyone see the AL.com story with Grubb talking about the QBs?

It’s a different time. If dude doesn’t play, at least as a sophomore, there’s a good chance he’ll go elsewhere.
re: QB race will be huge come spring.Maybe in a not so good way,

Correct. Just how it is in the current state of football.
re: Anyone listen to Michael Bratton, of "that SEC Podcast" today?

What does credible mean? Do think there is any media person that actually knows the answer to that?

You understand this now how college football works, right? Ohio St is fixing to win it all and they just spent a ton of dough to make that happen.
re: We've got a problem. Keelon expects to start.

I think Deboer probably realizes that his job is dependent on winning and showing improvement in year two. Hoping that means the best qb will play regardless of tenure.

Maybe Ty is good and solid, but not great. Makes me a little nervous that he hasn’t been able to beat out Milroe. I know many will answer with “but nobody was going to beat out Milroe this year”. I disagree. Ty could have forced the issue with his play in practice. You won’t convince me that Deboer was willing to take losses just because he believed Milroe deserved to be the starter. If Ty was a clearly better option, he would have started.

Do you think our AD had no idea Saban might retire? Do you think it’s possible he may have done some background work on this before Saban retired? It’s not like Saban retired and our AD jumped out of bed that day and went through the hiring process from A to Z. Do you think if the process took longer we would have hired your boy Kiffin?
re: Greg McElroy/Cole Cubelic on the bowl game
Posted by Oreo Speedwagon on 1/2/25 at 10:26 am to Sauron
You are telling me that players who dream of playing in the NFL would tank their own performance to keep their preferred qb as the starter? I call BS. Poor qb play makes all other positions on offense look bad…O line, receivers, RBs, etc.
Greg McElroys main job is to attract listeners. Listeners like gossip and controversy. We should not fall for it.

And totally tank his draft status? no!

Total fiction. This is so ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever.
You think players who dream about making it to the NFL are going to risk that because they want a particular qb to play. No.
