I was wrong; Tennessee was top five after all, but they’re still barely above .500.

1. Georgia 20-5
2. Alabama 17-6
3. Tennessee 11-10
T4. Ole Miss 7-7
T4. Oklahoma 7-7
6. Texas 12-13
T7. Kentucky 7-11
T7. Texas A&M 7-11
9. Missouri 6-10
T.10 LSU 7-13
T.10 South Carolina 7-14
12. Mississippi State 6-14
13. Arkansas 5-18
14. Florida 4-16
15. Auburn 3-17
16. Vanderbilt 1-15

The LSU stat is very surprising.

2021 nightmare season with Lame Duck Coach is included in that. We went 2-5 against the Top 25 that season.

How many of those losses are against UGA and Bama? 6 or 7?

That's an overall 127-187 record.

Seems strange with how good the SEC has been OOC historically?

You do realize that it’s the listed team against a top-25 opponent. So,

1) yes, there are a lot of times an unranked team plays a ranked team, and then loses… conference goes 0-1 against itself…. (shocker, I know)
2) and that when it’s an SEC top-25 match-up, this total equals 1 win & 1 loss for the conference?

You can’t interpret any of what you’re trying to imply from these stats….

Hard to believe there are only 3 SEC teams above .500 during that period (only 5 at or above). There are more SEC teams below .250 than there are above .500.

In their defense, only two teams are well above .500 - and Tennessee has had to play them both every year.

It’d be interesting to see how many of those are in and out of conference games.

It’d make it easier to see what the level of impact Georgia and Alabama have had on the disparity of range.

Intersting stat:

Since Brian Kelly arrived at LSU:

LSU is 4-4 against top 10 teams.

Alabama is 2-2 against top 10 teams.

Georgia & Texas have played the most games (25) v. Top 25.

Texas, playing mostly B12, has more Top 25 Games than all of the SEC, but Georgia.

Who woulda thunk?

Ole Miss w/ 14 games total?

You can’t just blame O. Kelly is 4-8 against top 25 teams at LSU.
