Will this guy be off limits forever?
This would be the one guy we could bring in and maybe ...just maybe have a chance to survive Deboer.

Show cause ends July 2029
4 more years and you miss an offseason, so you cant really do it until 2030

Last week's game film should be sufficient as cause.

Pruitt has become our version of Tennessee's obsession with Gruden

Jesus. You'd think he stole money from an orphan's fund or something based on that time length. Yet, Hugh Freeze seemed to have done WAAAAAAAAY worse is back in coaching. Freeze was literally turned in by every SEC schools compliance staff for cheating his gonads off, had recruits videotaping themselves literally waving wads of hundreds of dollars and bringing in strippers from Memphis on University phones for the recruits.
Makes total sense.
Makes total sense.

Feels like there were powers that be (cough cough Fulmer) that worked with the NCAA to put him down and not touch Tennessee in all that mess. He probably figured Pruitt would just go back to Bama and he knew he was a better DC than a HC

Bama shouldnt give a damn what the NCAA says about it. Bill Self is still coaching basketball at Kansas. Go hire Pruitt and tell the NCAA to stick it up their arse

Isn't Pruitt a PE teacher now lol

Pruitt dug his own grave because he just didn’t cooperate when it was clear he was going to be an example

But Self doesn’t have a show cause penalty. And because Pruitt does, if we fired Wommack and hired him today he couldn’t actually do any of the duties of the job, on the field, at practice or in the office, until Sept. 6, 2026.

You can’t just hire him and sit him. You also have to actually give the NCAA a reason to allow you to do so, otherwise you get sanctioned as well
No one touches these coaches. Largely because the system is that unless the coach is vindicated post punishment you’re designed to take a hammer to the face for circumventing it

Which is why he’s going to be helping his daddy … fine man BTW … and teaching PE and coaching junior high basketball in Rainsville, Alabama, for the foreseeable future.

Except Pruitt would probably jump at the chance to coach at Bama again.

Pruitt is suing the NCAA for the results of his firing and using outdated rules and guidelines for punishment. May not change anything but I think his hearing/court date is October 15, 2025. It should be interesting.

Freeze literally bought prostitutes for children.

After Michigan's cheating out in the open and getting a slap on the wrist, I'd hope Pruit's hearing goes well. Would be amazing to have this dude back and inject some toughness back into the defense.

Pruitt should not be punished the way he is. He was hammered like Charley Pell for doing what everybody else was doing but did not have the moxie or support to pull it off. His punishment should be waved especially since pay for play is legal now. Preventing people to make a living under this type situations is a crime. His defenses were by far the best during Saban's tenure.
