What does DeBoer need to do to change your opinion?

The question was posed on talk radio earlier this week - What does DeBoer need to do to change your opinion on the direction of the team? I thought it was an interesting question. For some, there was nothing he could do. I don't know that I can go that far yet, but I definitely don't have the warm and fuzzies right now.

I was curious what others thoughts were.

For me, in the immediate future (next two weeks) I need to see players holding each other accountable, more head hunters on defense, domination in the trenches, and (I feel sick for even having to say this) zero loafing. Even if those occurred the next two weeks, Georgia is the real point where my opinion would actually be able to shift some. But that game was going to be a challenge even if we looked great against FSU and we clearly did not.

Just win. That's pretty much it.

Which wins though? Clearly everyone wants to win out, but which wins actually shift your opinion on DeBoer?

Playoffs this year. Period. We're supposed to be one the most talented teams this year.

I wanna see all the soft bs gone. I want them to get hard on hitting hard. I and see them make someone's arse quit instead of them making us quit.

I need to see some fire, effort and discipline from the players. Particularly the defense. I don’t mean to let their emotions make them play out-of-control, but they need to have energy and a desire to dominate.

That then needs to translate into wins.

I could stomach 1 more *hard fought road loss this year, but that's about it.

He needs to take his 70 million buyout and donate it to a coach that demands excellence from his players

I agree. Show some emotion. He doesn't have to throw his headset like Saban, but at least look like he's involved. Maybe he does look involved to those who are in the stands, it's hard to know, but now that I'm watching on tv rather than being there in person, I can't remember him doing anything that remotely looks like he's involved, mad, angry or happy.

A) I don't believe he's respected yet. We need to see accountability for bad plays and poor schemes and there is no evidence that's happened so far.
B) I would like to see him prove this year he can at least elevate the offense. If we have to be competitive by winning 42-35 so be it, but we must play at a level reflective of our talent on at least one side of the ball or else I don't see how this ends up positively.

It's not about wins and losses mainly for me. Sometimes you just get beat, but you have to look like a smart, physical and cohesive unit at some point. They haven't done that for a full game yet under DeBoer.

1. Have a team that looks well prepared and plays disciplined for a full 60 minutes
2. Have at least one game where they play cleanly with less penalties than the opponent
3. See players on the sidelines that are fired up and ready for the challenge on the road
4. A defensive team that fully understands their responsibilities and plays with speed
5. Have at least one game where the offensive line plays as a complete unit

In other words, actually play fundamentally sound football.

His job. Stop being oblivious to problems in the program. Develop a backbone and firmness. Actually lead for once.

The players can motivate themselves, and I don’t care about his demeanor.

We can’t even tell the full extent of the issues bc we’re preparing/executing like idiots.

Let the fricking secondary try to carry the defense while we sell out to stop the run. Use the entire field on offense and make teams defend every part.

Teams have issues. They usually try to mask them. We aren’t doing ANYTHING to help the weak spots.

Let Ryan, Germie, Horton, and the rest fricking eat. Challenge the OL and let these mfers cook.

Tell the secondary they’re on their own and fricking get after it with the front 7.

Our gameplans, given the personnel we have, are mind blowing to me.

And maybe fix the leverage issue on defense. And maybe do something that allows the LBers to flow like South Carolina’s were.

Our margins seem thin entering these games and then for 60 minutes we watch them act like they’re just grinding out 60 minute hard fought games.

No, we’re getting wrecked. Play desperate af or get the frick out of here.

I just want to look prepared, or at the very least that the team looks like they actually want to be here. I honestly don't even care about losses at this point, but I can't take the total chaos we saw Saturday.

Win. Dominate the opponent. Even if it’s a close win it’s a defensive smothering. Put fear back into opponents systems. No more big wins followed by complete fricking don’t give a shite games.

Go 10-1/11-0 the rest of the way.

How he goes about it doesn't matter to me. Just win baby.

He could start looking engaged on the sideline, showing emotion, enacting a little discipline, cut back on mistakes/penalties, fire Wommack, stop giving all kinds of stupid, corporate style answers to questions, and just kind of give the impression of being, you know, a leader, and it won't make any difference to anyone if we lose 4 more games.

I agree. Just look competent and play with some freaking pride and fire. Sure, sometimes the ball may not bounce your way and you get the L, but unfortunate bounces or the other team just making a couple more plays isn't why we are losing. It's missing the fundamentals. As a team, generally looking unprepared and unmotivated.
