Why do we crap on teams we just beat or saw lose? It's Week 1...

Some examples:
"Texas is trash." They smothered the Ohio State offense in their own house. And had a chance to tie in the last minute. Their defense kept them in the game. (Arch definitely has some issues tho. He deserves the criticism.)
"Clemson and Klubnik suck." Their defense bent and rarely broke against a good LSU offense. And, Klubnik was actually pretty damn impressive throwing on the run and extending plays. He actually fared worse when standing in the pocket under pressure. I think their offense is going to rake in the ACC.
"Syracuse lol." They are a solid program these days. 10-3 last year. I don't know how their defense will wind up looking over the year, but Tennessee scored at will.
"Baylor is not impressive." Maybe, maybe not. But that Auburn run game with Arnold is going to give people some fits this year. That was a solid road win.
Maybe Syracuse, Baylor, Clem's son, and Texas are all trash but it's just week 1.
You can throw FSU/Bama in there too. "Noles will be lucky to win 6 games. They were 2-10 last year." Yeah but they upgraded talent and drafted the Gus Bus. It remains to be seen if Bama's lines are that suspect or if FSU is going to be really good in the trenches. Definitely the shocker of the weekend.

Bama could still end up being a good team. Texas could end up being a good team, too. But in order for that to happen, Texas needs to make a QB change. If not, they’re a 7-5/8-4 team.

It is the nature of the beast. Instead of enjoying a win, there are some fans bent on impugning the team lost. All that does is diminish what the winning team did.

The "why" has everything to do with the arrogance of the respective fan bases the rest of us put up with when those teams win.
When as we saw this weekend the unexpected happens and they go down it is an excuse for the non-bama, non-whorn football world to celebrate how great the sport can be when the perennial favorites gets their asses handed to them.

It is strange to me how people point to last season when saying how good a team is this season.
With the portal, teams can be completely different, good and bad.
Florida State has over 40 new players and 2 new coordinators. So far they look much better.
Poor Marshall had to decline their bowl game because practically the whole team transferred. They have 62 new players scrounged up at the last minute and a whole new coaching staff. They are going to be horrible this season.
At this point they might as well just let team captains pick teams before each game like in kickball.

Um, there was only 1 team that had that happen this weekend, and it wasn’t Texas.

I think it has more to do with Trolling, alters and a desire to make people angry.
I can crap all over another team then watch people get unreasonably angry or go into extreme detail to prove me wrong. Mean while I’m on to the next thread to do it again.

We really don't know how good anyone will be. I would have to guess that the LSU win is real gold. All the others could be real gold or fools gold. We really don't know.
Even if Texas would have won, I have my doubts about Ohio States Dline this year. I just don't think this TX offense puts 170 yards rushing on last year's OSU front 7. I think they will get beat this year....but who really knows right now.

If it wasn’t for overreactions, we’d all be bored waiting on more data in order to draw more valid conclusions. So, we take the sole data point that we have, and run with it. Often turns out to be hilariously wrong, but that’s just the way we roll.
