How was this different from losing to Ole Miss two years in a row?

I understand is the first game and that feels worse somehow, but seriously, what’s different about this loss? There were moments this team looked really impressive, even on defense in the second half.
I think it being the first game has us shook, but a lot of you are overreacting. Saban lost a head scratcher every year but 2009. They may go 8-4, 7-5 or whatever, but this game honestly didn’t make or break us.

Those games had weird flukes in them.
This one had a bunch of rich, spoiled kids who put in zero effort after the first drive.

In every loss that this staff has had since being at Alabama, our team has been manhandled. Going back to Vanderbilt last year to Oklahoma to Michigan in the bowl game. All asskickings. The loss to Michigan in the bowl game might actually be the most egregious considering how many of their star players opted out for the draft. Yesterday was basically an extension of that game except that the game was in Tallahassee and not Tampa.

At no point did those OM losses feel like they were the better team. It was clear as day that FSU was better than us by the start of the second quarter.
Big difference.
Big difference.

Because we weren't 5-5 in our last 10 games.
Because our offense could still run the ball.
Because our coach was still emotional on the sideline.
Because no one was calling out how soft our team was.
WE SUCK AND ITS OBVIOUS

Difference is we are now 5-5 in the last 10.
This shouldn't be surprising, this is a clear trajectory. You should not be surprised if this season we are fighting just for a chance to go to a bowl.
We didn't even turn the ball over at FSU and they still beat us by multiple scores. They were just flat out better team

Oh I don’t know, we kinda won 13+ games both those years. Kinda helps ease the pain of losing to a 9 win and 11 win conference opponent, don’t ya think?

In theory it isn't crazy. People forget our Viriginia Tech opener where our entire team was just Christian Jones trying to haul us over the finish line by himself. We had numerous slow starts to seasons under Saban.
And if Saban were still in charge he'd be chewing out our fans for this reaction.
That said, its not that we lost, its how we lost. We all saw this coming from miles away. Gus having all summer to prepare knowing that his offense is what gives us the most trouble, a road opener against a team who absolutely fricking hates us, potential rain. We were totally unprepared for all of it and then couldn't adjust. I think they passed a single time on us jn the 2nd half and ran for like 200 yards (may be wrong, I was drunk). Our team had no heart, no fire. Thats what is concerning.
Maybe we get it together, our season is still very much alive and sometimes teams need to lose to reach their potential, but this just seems like its entirely on the coaching staff treating a big fricking game like amateur hour.

The difference is you didn't see Blake Simms or Cooper Bateman say they thought the game was won after the first drive like Ty did. This team is entitled and unfortunately we're going to have to go through some dark days before the ship is righted.

I was at that 2015 game. It was a fluke. DeBoer’s losses are not flukes. We play FSu tomorrow we lose by double digits again.

There’s a huge difference. We don’t have the GOAT college coach in the sideline to right the ship. We don’t have Kirby at DC or Lane as OC. We don’t have Derek Henry, Amari Cooper, or a bunch of first rounders on defense.
But yeah, other than all that, it’s the same.

Fluke games. We won the natty in 2015.

It was how terrible they looked. Like a middle of the road pac12 team. Defense was just gashed all game. Offense had a few moments but no sense of urgency or drive to win. Let's face it. These kids are now milking bama for nil while not producing anything. They are making more than some pro players and a soft arse coach let's them get by with it

Florida State could have won by 3 TDs, but they ended the game running out the clock.
Those Ole Miss losses were competitive games.

Pretty much. We've become the Dallas Cowboys of cfb. They get all the money & prestige & don't have to put any work to win. Hekl no wonder none of them transferred during spring. We have a guy who makes a million dollars a year to fair catch punts.

There were not. I’m sure you mean the first drive and even that was flawed. After FSU adjusted, Bama’s offense hit the toilet.
Bama’s defense was in the toilet most of tge day until Gus Bus hit the usual 3rd and 4thQ lull. He ran out of scripted plays with all the eye candy which fooled our dumb dumbs most of the day.
At that point, the offense was already deep in the crapper.

Yep. They used to mock us for saying we beat ourselves, but that was generally true up to 2023. FSU straight-up beat us. As did Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Michigan again in 2023. We just have lazy shitbags for players. Main-character-syndrome influencers who think everything will just work out because they play for 'Alabama'.
This is a way bigger issue than KDB but he has done absolutely nothing to rectify it.
This is the one-and-done era of college football. Saban became a Calipari and now we have Ted Lasso.
