Obviously Bamas is Crimson because Jesus himself anointed our university by blessing it with the blood of Christ.
But was curious as to why we have maroon, homo purple, poopie diaper orange, and so on..

Texas at one time had a bit lighter orange and then Darrell Royal darkened the uniform color a bit so it would match the football better.

True.
Texas wearing orange and white was adopted around 1900. It was originally a bright orange but was changed in 1925 to Burnt Orange because the uniforms lost their color during the season becoming more yellow.
Texas went back to a bright orange during WW2 due to restrictions on availability of the burnt orange dye.
As said, DKR revived the burnt orange in the early 60’s.

LSUs purple and gold are after Mardi Gras colors. Tulane got green first after Mardi Gras

Won’t it be nice when the season starts so there will be actual football to talk about? The junior high girls’ topics are getting played out.

Texas started wearing orange when they saw Big Bro Tennessee doing it. They just see anything we do and try to copy it tbh

Crimson and Creme
Origins
The colors were adopted in 1899 when the university was founded.
Crimson symbolizes courage and strength, while cream represents purity and peace.

A&M's colors were officially red and white. Then around 1900 we got shipped maroon jerseys by accident and adopted the colors.

The original orange and white was selected from a general store. One of the teams first games was a road trip to play in Dallas I think, maybe Baylor in Waco. Anyway as supporters were boarding the train to go to the game they realized they had no team colors. Cheerleaders went to store and bought the most available ribbon of two colors. The most ribbon in the store was orange and white.
Another interesting story is how Levi Straus blue jeans came about. Some other thread maybe.

Arkansas’s mascot was the cardinals originally so I guess that’s why they would be red.

Auburn’s official colors — orange and navy blue — date back to the late 1800s and were chosen because of the influence of a faculty member’s alma mater.
In 1892, when Auburn (then called Alabama Polytechnic Institute) fielded its first football team, the school didn’t yet have official colors.
Dr. George Petrie, who is considered the "father of Auburn football," selected orange and navy blue for the team uniforms.
He chose those colors because they were the colors of his alma mater, the University of Virginia, where he had studied history.
The colors stuck and eventually became the official school colors of Auburn University.

The University of Kentucky adopted blue and white as its official colors in 1892. Originally, however, UK students had decided on blue and light yellow prior to the Kentucky-Centre College football game on December 19, 1891.
The shade of blue, which is close to a royal blue, was chosen when a student asked the question, “What color blue?” At the time, Richard C. Stoll (who lettered in football at UK in 1889-94) pulled off his necktie and held it up. The students then adopted that particular shade of blue.
A year later, UK students officially dropped the light yellow color for white.
