How's everyone team looking for next year? I know it's early and a lot of portal moves yet to happen but just trying to figure who will likely be the SEC contenders next year.

For UF our entire frontcourt likely returns with Condon having an absolutely disastrous post season which has killed any chance of a 1st round pick. I think we will really play to that strength next year. Golden has been quoted as saying Haugh will start next year. I think that might be a hint at Haugh playing the 3. He's mobile enough to guard wings as he's shown this year.

PG - ?????
SG - Aberdeen
SF - Haugh
PF - Condon
C - Chinyelu/Handlogten

This would be an otherworldly rebounding team with Haugh at the 3. Just gotta find another good guard in the portal.

I think we will be extremely good again next year assuming Golden can keep the frontcourt together.

Florida - Gonna be a problem - could run it back
Bama - Gonna be a problem, but until they can figure how to defend and rebound, scoring 100+ 12 times per year is nice, but will not get it done in the tournament. They will lose to Florida again
Auburn - Gonna take a step back and lose to Florida again
Kentucky - Better than this year, but not quite elite
Tennessee - Barnes always has them in the conversation
Arkansas - Sweet 16
Texas - Meh
Georgia - Should be decent
Oklahoma - Meh - losing Fears will hurt
Mizzou - same as this year
Vandy - Meh
South Carolina - We'll see what Lamont Parris is made of
Ole Miss - will be solid again - possible Final Four contender?
Mississippi State - same as this year
A&M - Who cares?
LSU - Nah

If Pettiford and Chad come back we have a decent nucleus to build around but as of right now we have zero size and unless there are some late portals I don't know where it's going to come from. Right now I think we'd be doing well to make the tournament.

Basically a whole new team at LSU. Seems like we are spending some money in the portal, but no way to tell if they will be any good.

I'm predicting a Final Four appearance. Kentucky looks loaded for next year.

Georgia's listed as one of the favorites to win it all next year at 300/1 odds.

I'd say we have a chance.

Clayton, Richard, and Martin were the x-factors in Florida's success this season. Front court is obviously good, but it will be hard to replace those dudes.

It feels like for SC that Lamont realized he couldnt get by with a small wallet. He is hitting the transfer portal hard and kicking out players that werent contributing.

Additions
Meechie Johnson - OSU
Eaglestaff - some small school but shot well
Eli Ellis - HS
Kobe Knox - USF
Essandoko - C - Providence

losing
Ugusuk
Davis
Scott
federiko
Thomas
Pringle
Conyers.

So Carolina has no clue what we are getting, but it can't be worse

For sure, obviously you can't replace them. Just gotta play to your strengths.

Haugh at the 3 does that. Would give us probably the best frontcourt in the nation and even better rebounding team than the elite/dominant rebounding team we were this year.

It's really tough to know, but the post by Little Avery seems pretty much on target.

The transfer portal will be crucial for most teams--it's the quickest way to rebuild, address weakness and improve! It's becoming more so and the recruiting of high school players is not nearly as big a deal as it used to be.

Meechie Johnson is back after a failed transfer portal move to Ohio State, further illustrating how fricking stupid the transfer portal has become.

Unless we strike some gold with a couple big men in the portal, I’m pretty sure we’ll take a big step back. This year’s team was special and it mostly came from senior leadership that has been there a while. We lose all of that.
