Would Bear Alexander be worth a shot?

I saw where USC DT Bear Alexander is in the portal and was wondering if he's worth a shot at trying to land?
Pros: Big dude who can play and would meet (IMO) a glaring need for Bama.
Cons: He is a mercenary, make no mistake and is 100% in it solely for the money and nothing else.
I just don't know if he's worth it. I'm certain if it's not Bama, a number of other big time schools will try to sign him. As much as on paper I love his size and the idea he would consistently get a push up the middle on passing downs and disrupt teams, the last thing Bama needs is a crappy attitude in the locker room.
So, unless he's very misunderstood or his attitude has improved, I'd have to say "pass" most likely.

Everything about this guy's path so far tells me he doesn't really like football. Just wants to get paid. That might work at some positions if you're good enough. Doesn't work on DL. You gotta love it.

He's even worse of a mercenary than people think.
He has played for 6 different teams in the last 7 years, going back to his freshman year of high school, and now he is looking for a SEVENTH!

He's really talented and I think we need better linemen, but no. Bringing a guy like this in runs counter to everything we've heard from this staff about their roster building philosophy.
