Because their fans (with exceptions) are absolutely insufferable when their teams are winning.

As an Alabama fan, my nightmare is two loss Alabama playing in the SEC championship against anyone.

If Georgia can spank you and Vanderbilt can give you a fight, I wonder what teams who actually care about beating the shite out of Texas will do. Especially on the road... excluding OU (which is still a Big 12 team for all intents and purposes), you've played one SEC road game and won by 3 points.

It feels like you are likely going to get
Texas or Texas A&M vs Tennessee or Alabama
Obviously some upsets can still go down but it feels like it's mostly down to those possible 4 matchups.
I think any combo of Texas/A&M/Tennessee is the nightmare matchup for the board.

We had A&M/Tenn in the baseball championship game, and it wasn't that bad.
I think Texas + anybody, but especially Tennessee, is the nightmare scenario.

That's why I don't want Bama to play in it. With this being the first year of the 12 team playoff we have zero idea how the committee is going to handle the loser of the SECCG. I would rather not be the Ginnie pig and find out. Bypass the SECCG and get a home playoff game would by my preference.
