But….if….and it’s still only an if…the 4 transfer starters on the Oline actually have improved that unit as much as it appears they might have, the Arkansas could be the surprise team in the SEC this year.

All 3 QBs look good, RB room is solid. Recievers are good not great and TE is stacked.

The defense will also reveal itself Saturday…but for the first time in a long time I’m anxious to watch a hog game and see how all this stacks up.

We are going to leave some WRs 1v1 on Saturday in order to win the line of scrimmage. I think its going to be a close one. Their run defense looked suspect against SDSU.

Facing a Mike Gundy team on the road is not something I would ever feel comfortable with. With that being said, we have a decent shot to pull this one off.

I think it will all come down to Green’s composure. Can he play within himself and protect the ball? Or will he get flustered, have issues with accuracy all day, and turn it over?

If we suck this year, it will be because of defense

Or OL play or QB accuracy.

But yes, defense is also a big question mark

Petrino would mask those and put up at least a mediocre offense IMO

Disagree. Have you seen the QB play from a chunk of the other SEC programs we're playing? Not great - but especially not elite - outside of OM and Tennessee.

I think our QB play will be what our season hinges on for the most part. I still don't trust Green and he didnt do anything to really WOW me against UAPB. In fact, against better defenses he would've thrown at least one INT and would've been lit up on a lot of his runs

Including the perfect back shoulder pass to the endzone while rolling opposite his throwing arm?

Tough crowd.

Disagree. This is where most of our overall talent and depth lies. We will make another jump on D just with having a veteran team and a second year in the system. I also think we are in better shape at LB overall than what we thought heading into the season. Not predicting a top 10 D at all but this group won’t be our downfall IMO

OSU OL gave up 0 sacks and only 3 TFL’s. The OSU OL is likely one of the better position groups on their team.

I went back and watched the game the other day (you can find the full game replay on YouTube), and Green looked like a completely different QB in the 2nd quarter than he did in the 1st.

In the 1st he was really struggling with accuracy, whereas in the 2nd he seemed to stand tall in the pocket and progress through his reads better. That’s 100% coaching. It also seemed like Petrino did a great job in the 2nd of scheming guys open, because Green had some wide open receivers to throw to.

I’m not as optimistic about Green’s throwing abilities as I hoped I’d be coming out of a game like that, but I’m confident in Petrino’s ability to put him in the best situation to mask his deficiencies.

Also, maybe it’s just stereotypical affection for the backup QB, but Singleton looked great in his action. He looked confident and was throwing darts. Again, maybe it’s rose colored glasses, but I probably feel better about the backup QB situation than I have in several seasons.

They have the edge on the OL….our OL is likely just as good on the first string, but after that it’s a huge falloff

I'm not necessarily doubting our defense, or saying our offfense will 100% be great. I just think our offense has a pretty high floor.

Not sure Green can handle the SEC defensive pressure .

I feel Singleton will be the QB that finishes the season.

I'm interested in seeing if we've improved game/clock management. Based on talent it's a very winnable game, but 2023 Pittman would 100% lose this game.

I also think there is a slight chance we beat the shite out of them.

I’m not predicting it, I wouldn’t bet on it, but I’m saying there’s a chance.

I'm with you. I think Singleton is the better thrower of the two. I'm sure Green is solidly QB1, but he can't afford to slip much. Singleton's no scrub.

good chance we used that game to work on stuff we weren’t great at either. I’m curious to see how the offensive gameplan looks Saturday against a serious opponent when every play is critical
