NIL should have been the law of the land since 1869.

Innocent of all accusations.

I only cared to the extent that I was afraid Auburn was going to be penalized for doing what everyone else was doing. But at the time I felt that whatever Cam was paid, it wasn’t nearly enough. (Especially if he got paid nothing.)
The best thing about it now is how much Cam and Auburn’s 2010 NC drives all the other SEC fans crazy. Haha!
In fact, if I could do it over again, I’d be yelling loud and proud, “Damn right, we paid him! What ya’ gonna do about it?” Finga!

You sound like you’re in 8th grade. Players at Auburn and every school have always gotten paid, as they should have. You people that think we’re the only ones that weren’t pay players crack me up

They were paying players when I was there in the 80's. I met players that were there before & after I was there...they were being paid and admitted it. Bama, UT, UGA, UF & all others well except for maybe Vandy ( team mate of mine went there) were getting paid. NIL before NIL...LOL

Same. I always figured he got something but I didn't feel it was anything that was unique to Cam and/or Auburn. My concern was that shite was going to hit the fan over something most teams were doing as well.

I have no doubt that our players were receiving extra benefits then, and have at any point in our history. But there is a big difference between $100 handshakes and a bagman dropping off $200k to secure a recruit’s commitment, and true systemic cheating.
If we had paid Cecil $200K, and/or were engaged in systemic cheating at that time, who among us actually believes that our dysfunctional athletics department and booster network could be that effective at covering it up to have survived the NCAA camped out on our campus for 13 months, looking under every fricking rock? And the lead investigator was the same chick who got fired for her underhanded tactics in the Miami investigation. The NCAA had an agenda and intense pressure from all quarters; they were hell-bent to bring us down. And all they could find was Trooper Taylor announced recruits’ names at a pep rally. It defies all logic to think we were guilty.
Can drove a scooter around campus for crying out loud. When your Heisman QB is driving a scooter, that’s a pretty good indicator that 1) his family didn’t receive squat, and 2) systemic cheating wasn’t going on.

Cecil and one of the MIss St handlers worked out a deal to pay him money,
Kenny Rogers, a former State player and runner for an agent, went to Cecil and told him he could get Cecil money for Cam from MSU. Cecil said "see what you can do". Cecil was not shopping Cam. Every bit of the Cam saga was on State's side.

Cam's story has holes in it. The wife asking Mullen if Cam committed is the only thing he brought up about the wife. He could have left her out of it. He said she was listed as a source but I doubt that's true. He never said why she would be a source and why 180,000 is the number and where that number came from. That number is more important than talking about the wife which was probably only supporting her husband.
If State was going to pay then I imagine Cam didn't leave money on the table. That's the problem with the no evidence part. Evidence got lost in a boating accident.

Bro, I wish we lived closer together and could hang out. I would love to absorb some of your positivity.
One day, I will take you fishing and soak it all in. LOL. Never change bro. Dont let them get to you. Do your thing
180K was a damn steal. Auburn should at least get an award for the best use of money or something.

I am just trying to understand why Cam is dredging this up again. He is perfectly within his rights whatever the frick he wants to do, but AUs name also gets drug in the mud every time this is brought up.

Literally no one is dragging Auburn over this interview lol
I wish he'd talk about it more.

Are you serious? Cam is one of the biggest attention whores in sports in the past 15 years. He is out or the spotlight and needs him some attention

I think Cam just confirmed things from 2010, that Dan and his wife were scum. That they stoked the flames of controversy during the 2010 season. (Her kissing players is still weird)
To Any Auburn Fan who believes Cam and his father got $180,000, you need to reevaluate and take off your tinfoil hat.
I have always believed this, that a former assistant at MSU (Joey) who was at Alabama in 2010 also got Bama involved, which got the Finebaum, Bammerham news and ESPN involved.
Cam never got $180,000 from Auburn. Not sure MSU would have paid that either. MSU former player (Kenny Rogers) contacted MSU about getting paid. There was never a single phone record showing he contacted anyone at Auburn.
We were investigated by the NCAA, the FBI, and every media hack in the business and NOTHING was found. Do you believe that is possible that anyone could pull that off?

I'm still getting some run off the 2010 title personally. I wish it were in the news every single day. Just don't be sensitive about folks saying we paid Cam
