Maybe that's why he got motivated. If this deal goes through then he's made a big splash like all of us wanted. If he hires us a real football coach then he'll be back in good graces...at least for a little while.

Not even remotely the same.
Cal built UMASS from nothing, rebuilt Memphis, and restored Kentucky.
Hes being asked to maintain Arkansas basketball for 5 years at worst.
Jimbo was looking for his next big payday before being fired and ran into a retirement plan. Cal had a retirement plan at Kentucky, he didn't have to leave, they weren't going to fire him this year or next.

I said it’s a solid hire just not home run hire. Outside of beard, Oates or Hurley I’d say this is about as good as it gets.
