One of the things I liked that he said was “if you’re into drinking and clubbing you won’t play here” needed that type of mentality this past year

This is sounding like it has legitimate legs, from both here and stuff going around outside of the internet
How many times did Cal express his anger that his hiring was leaked early last night? 3 or 4? Guessing he probably gave Hunter an earful over that, since he's so adamant it didn't come from his side of things.
Looking back, it's hilarious seeing what everyone said on here and discord especially, when the official announcement took longer than expected. We had KY sports reporters just fully making shite up about Cal trying to walk it back to UK and a bunch of Arkansas fans that ate it up - started a huge freakout of gullible idiots.
Now there's egg on all their faces. It turns out Calipari was adamant about waiting until after the NC game himself, no other bullshite factors at play.
This coaching search should hopefully teach a lot of our fans, regular internet posters, fake "insiders" and those gobbling up everything they say, and local sports journos a huge lesson. Everyone was clowning on Yurachek and ready to jump off tall buildings when Beard supposedly turned us down and the Walker shite was leaked, but it seems like almost none of it was actually accurate

Are we sure Beard was never offered? Not sure I believe that one. Beard tweets out he’s staying at Ole Miss on Friday and Hunter is supposedly talking to Cal on Saturday in Phoenix.

There was way too much smoke. Plus in the Athletic Article it says the initial contact was to discuss different candidates with Cal, presumably after talks with Beard broke down.

Cal was spoken to on Friday to begin with... Not sure on the rest. I do believe Beard was talked too, but it didn't go far because he wanted an out for the KY job. No 3 year clause. I agree with HY on that one. Get him here, he does well for 2 years and off he goes leaving us in a lurch. Rather have what we do currently fwiw. Plus, I don't care if he drinks, but he does party a bit much for a leader of young men in a university setting. I have a feeling that his days of ignorant behavior aren't over... we shall see

Doesn't necessarily mean anything because Beard's people could've been leaking mis-info for negotiating power.
My guess is we reached out but never got to the point of an offer

I'll guarantee you Cal and Tyson have been working on this unofficially for awhile. HY was way too bold in his statement that we wouldn't be getting in a bidding war for Musselman. You only do that when you know you got your guy locked down. Everything else is window dressing.
