FSU had their chance to join the SEC decades ago and Diddy elected to go to the ACC.
Don't remember the exact details, but diddy wanted an easier road to the national championship game. Playing an SEC schedule would make a NC much more difficult.
Personally, I would much prefer teams in Virginia and North Carolina to expand the TV markets.

Clemson only does this if they have a landing strip

FSU blocked themselves from joining the SEC. They were scared but weren't afraid to say it.

Here is an article from 9 years ago that explore the "what if" scenario of FSU joining the SEC instead of the ACC back in the 90's.

Yea, UNC and UVA would be great additions to the SEC for practically all revenue sports and for the large and growing TV markets. Are they interested, though?
NC had the 5th fastest growing population of all states as of last year. And by 2031 is projected to be the 7th most populous state.

I don’t see Clemson as attractive to the Big 10, its kinda SEC or bust for them
I disagree. B10 wants in the south and Fox wants the same. Look ESPN has the contract with the ACC. If these ACC schools wanted to go to the SEC, ESPN would make that happen since they are partnered up with the SEC. Clemson, FSU, and Miami are going to the B10 and Fox.

I'm sure it changed sometime on Dec 3rd, 2023.

I can't see most of the snobby B10 schools ever accepting Clemson.

Once people in Florida are psychologically invested in a Purdue v Nebraska ladies volleyball game, they'll never leave the house. Florida beaches will be empty. The sharks will go hungry and will swim to the gulf & go to Mississippi and Louisiana. Years ago, I told you guys this would happen.

It's the TV networks running the show coupled with the amount of money that can be generated that is doing away with old beliefs.

They both need to go to the Big 12.

Here is the actual lawsuit.
Clemson must think there is something to the FSU lawsuit to file as well.
And, contrary to the title, Clemson didn't join FSU's suit; they filed their own suit in South Carolina. Maybe they didn't have faith that the judge in Tallahsassee was going to hometown the ACC (or that appellate courts in Florida would uphold such a ruling). Obviously, they are counting on home cooking and not the merits of their claim.

Not as laughably bad as thinking they can't stay within the terms of their contract WITH the ACC because didn't realize how much power they gave up by signing on that dotted line.

SEC needs to add both for the Super Conference

UF has always supported FSU joining the SEC. We aren't cowards like A&M and SCar.
That's complete and total unmitigated bullshite. Bill Arnsparger despised FSU and everything they stood for .... as did Ray Graves before him and Steve Spurrier, who carries more weight than any of them as well as Jeremy Foley whom Arnsparger had walk us through the entry process during their transition of power at UF.
I could damn near write the book on it.
I sat at a table having a pregame meal with Mike McGee and Foley shortly after the CLA opened pregame before a UF SC basketball game and listened to Foley talk about it all with Mike.
No Gator AD people wanted FSU in the conference. Mike told me straight up that UF, SC, UT, KY and UGA would never allow FSU or CU in this league.
Both had their chances ... both snubbed the opportunity. Clemson could have left the ACC for free, FSU could have joined the SEC for free.
frick'em both and frick anyone who wants those two poisonous skanks in this honorable brotherhood of a league.
And frick you for the "coward" bullshite cocksucker. Our rivalry with the sheep humping sister banging taterheads was the second longest continual uninterrupted rivalry in the country until the covid bullshite ended it you cock gobbling cum drizzler.
Meet me at the sonic and I'll put a size 16 up your gapping bunghole while you're mumbling the word "coward" you fricking little punk.
Cowards my arse. It's got nothing to do with cowardice. It's got everything to do with integrity, politics and us knowing how they operate.
Clemson, on top of bringing absolutely nothing to the table in terms of market revenue or strategic expansion, is one of the most woke universties in this country ..... by far. They're overrun with NWO Globalists, government funding and U.N. influence.
But you're too fricking ignorant to know about the demon you're wanting to invite across our threshold you shitbag.
Now, find a way to make it about cowardice fricktard.

I wish the SEC and BIG TEN would go ahead and expand to 60 teams between them.
Then divide those teams into five 12 team sub-conferences based on geography and traditional rivalries.
They could call the five sub-conferences names like the PAC-12, ACC, SWC, BIG and SEC.
